It was a quiet summer day in Kyoto, Japan. The sun was so beautiful from the window of the convenient store I was working at. After a long day it was making its way back into slumber while the bright moon was shining in the star-stained sky. My shift was almost over.

"Monica! You can go home now!"

my manager screamed from the back room.

I sighed as I walked over to the hook to hang up my apron. Suddenly I heard the door swing open.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

I was curious who it was because I had already put the sign saying "Sorry, we're closed," up.

"Sorry! We're closed!"

I said getting my bag from the break room.

"Yeah. I know. I'm sorry, but can I please buy something it's really.... HARU!!

he screamed.

I was freaked out by the man's scream so I headed out to the front desk to see what was the matter.

When I got to the counter I saw a tall man with brown shaggy hair and green eyes.

"Oh my gosh! Haru! Stop it!"

Next to him I could see a guy undressing while stepping into our fish tank display. I gasped and covered my eyes hoping not to see him naked.

The man who was getting into the fish tank heard my gasp and looked over. As I realized that he had a swimsuit on and wasn't completely naked, I looked up.

We caught each other's gazes and stood there for a moment staring deeply into each other's eyes. His eyes were a light blue color. They reminded me of the ocean. So vacant and lonely.

Once I realized I was staring at him, I looked away and blushed. I knew he was still staring at me though I looked away.

"Haru! Put your clothes back on while I go buy this!"

The man walked up to the counter.

"I'm really sorry about that. You see, he's got this unhealthy obsession with water and....."

I didn't even listen to half of what he was saying. All I could do was nod.

"Ok, well I'll ring you up and you guys can leave."

I had said that with an attitude, but I didn't mean to. I was so fixated on the guy behind him, I couldn't help myself.

The guy had put his clothes back on, but he was still staring at the fish tank.

"I wonder what is wrong with that dude?"

I thought to myself.

"Thank you so much!"

The one guy said pulling the other by his arm out of the store.

"That boy. Who was he?"
