My family walks ahead of me while I patiently walk next to Kaname and Zero, who had accompanied us on our daily walks that my mom and I usually go on, my dad joins us on the weekends. How I hate these walks! Yes, I'm that lazy, but only because I'd rather be on the computer. Not that any of you care about that, but still. . .
"Where are we going?" Kaname questions me after a moment of internal monologue.
"Nowhere. We're just walking, and most likely after that we're going to get ice cream. No point in walking if you ask me." I tell him. He lightly chuckles. I smile down at him, and put my hand out to him. He takes my finger, and I blush. It was so cute! I nearly squealed. I look over at Zero, but his hands are in his pockets as he walks a bit ahead of us. I sigh. I wish he wouldn't hate on me so much. I mean he already drinks my blood, and all.
I'm driven out of my distracted mind yet again when Kaname tightens his grip on my finger, and that tightening also starts to swirl a bad feeling inside of me. I look around as I try to figure out what that bad feeling is. I just hope it isn't that man, but most likely it is. I think he's stalking us. It's not like my family tried to be inconspicuous when I refused to explain that the man that startled me was after Zero and Kaname.
What should I do? Should I let my parents go ahead or should I catch up to them? I'm not very optimistic since I come up with two negative conclusions to my questions. If I were to let them go ahead of me, what's to say there isn't more men up ahead ready to grab them or if I catch up to them, they'll ambush all of us. This is not a good situation. I'm freaking out. I wish I had someone who knew about this stuff. Oh wait. I do. Two someones.
"K-Kaname, do you feel that too?" He nods his head.
"It's alright. It's a human." I look at him a little relieved, but the bad thing is the guy that surprised me from behind was a pretty big guy. I don't think I'd be able to fight him off.
"Should I be worried? I got the same feeling like last time. I think it's that man again." I tell them. I look over at Zero, who is on guard, and looking around.
"Zero?" He looks over at me, and nods his head.
"They're close." He tells us.
"What should we do? Should I stay behind, and let my parents go ahead?" I ask since I have no idea how many people there are.
"No, you go on ahead with them, and we'll see what this guy wants." I stop, and frown at Zero getting all protective all of a sudden.
"No way! I'm not leaving you two behind." I tell them sternly.
"You're just going to get in the way, and get hurt!" He yells out at me. I open my mouth to argue, but he's damn right. I would just get in the way, but I hate being reminded on my physical weaknesses.
"Please. I promise we'll be okay." Zero says to me much more gently. I don't get him at all, but I guess I don't have much of a choice, but to trust them.
"Okay, but if you don't come back in ten minutes I'm coming right back." I tell them walking back. They nod their heads, and I run towards my distancing family. Hoping that Kaname, and Zero are going to be okay.
"What took you so long? Wait, where are Kaname and Zero?" My parents ask as I catch up.
"Hm? Oh! They needed to go do their business." I tell them trying to sound as normal as possible.
"You mean they're-"
"Yes, mom. They're guys, so they can easily pee outside." I say with a grin. She blushes, and looks away.
"Should we wait for them?" My mom questions my dad.
"They'll catch up." We both say to her. She looks between us, and then shrugs. Luckily this is a straight, but also curved path. There are trees that cover what is happening behind us.
