Laurent, Ryoko and Tatsu pulled Wallace off of Larry. He groaned as he tried to sit up."Don't move too much, you've been hurt." Cassandra said helping him sit up.
"The vest took most of it. It just hurts like a mutha." He replied. They rolled Larry over then moved his arms from around Lyra. Lyra gasped for breath as Laurent checked his brother.
"Is he okay?" Lyra asked breathlessly.
"He doesn't appear to be hit." Ryoko replied.Larry had a gash across his forehead and Laurent instinctively ran a worried hand over his brother.
"Thank you for being here." Lyra wheezed and Wallace started checking to make sure she wasn't hit. She swatted his hands away. Cassandra helped Lyra off the ground and Lyra hugged her. "All of you," She hugged Ryoko then Tatsu when they came closer. "Did you see?" Lyra asked quietly as she tried not to think about Larry's unmoving body.
"Christopher." Wallace answered.
"Lahree?" Laurent yelled panicked. "Breathe!" He pressed repeatedly on his brother's chest.
"He would if you stop beating on his chest." Ryoko pushed his arms away. Tatsu checked Larry's eyes, "He will be fine he is just unconscious. Probably from Wall's heavy handed self pushing him down."
"I'm sorry I couldn't find a softer way to get him out of the way of a bullet." Wallace answered as he reached down to help carry Larry."Where everyone else?" Laurent asked as they walked into a building.
"They left for the boat after Larry and Lyra went to meet you. We sent them back to the boat when we heard the shooting and came to find you." Tatsu replied opening the door to her room. Ryoko turned on the light. Laurent helped make his brother comfortable while Ryoko retrieved her medical supplies."Cass." Wallace called then looked at the spot on Larry's shirt and pants when light hit it. She nodded and checked Larry.
"It's not his." She whispered then checked Wallace again for wounds still not finding any but he had a small rip in his clothes. She put her finger through a hole then turned to look at Lyra."Where Lea?" Cassandra asked quietly.
"Wasn't she right behind Laurent when we were walking here? Scissors?" Tatsu asked as she stitched Larry's forehead.
"I was behind Laurent." Cassandra corrected handing Tatsu the scissors.
"Son of a-" Ryoko mumbled. "He doesn't seem to be in any immediate danger. We will check him again when he wakes. In the meantime, we'll go look for her. We'll be back." She pulled her sister with her.
Wallace followed leaving Cassandra and Laurent alone."Maybe you should try to rest, he probably won't wake up for hours." Cassandra touched Laurent's shoulder.
"No I stay." Laurent replied.
"My room is next door at least take a shower." Cassandra insisted pulling his hand as she headed to the door.◇◇◇
An hour later Ryoko knocked on Cassandra's door. She followed her to Wallace's room.
"Any luck?" Cassandra asked when she walked into the room.
"We searched but there is no trace of her." Wallace answered.
"Now what?" Cassandra asked.
"Call Q?" Ryoko asked.
"And say what? We lost her after she was probably shot?" Wallace asked irritatedly. He dropped his shoulders and shook his head.
"He'd blow a fuse." Tatsu replied.
"I'm going to find her and then I'm going to kill her." Wallace groaned sitting on his bed.
"I suggest we proceed as if she were taken by Christopher until we know differently." Cassandra offered.
"If he planned to take her he wouldn't have done it while we were around. I think he was trying to take us out, hurting those closest to her." Ryoko countered.
"Then we need to get those she cares about someplace safe as soon as possible." Wallace concluded.
"What do we need to do?" Cassandra asked.
