Ch.4 Sweets and Sleep

*one week later*

As it turns out, mom and dad being cold near me was a side effect of getting my powers. It happened to Danny at first too. It's finally gone.

If they asked where Claire was, I would tell them she's at a friends house, when really, I had no clue. I hope she's ok...

All last week, I hung out with Danny, Sam, and Tucker. Sam was sorta warming up to me and Tucker...I wish he would warm down to me if that makes sense. We went to the mall mostly.

Right now, I was debating with Danny about wether or not I should tell Sam and Tucker about my powers. It was a Sunday morning and he was over at my house and we were in my room. Mom and dad didn't care so long as I kept my door open.

"You should tell them!! They're your friends too!!" Danny said while pacing the length of my room, which was huge

"I will in time, Danny. I just think I should get to know them better before I spill every secret of mine to them, that's all." I said as I laid back on my bed. The windows were open and a nice breeze was blowing in. It ruffled Danny's hair in a cute way.

"Yea, I guess you're right..." He plopped next to me and looked at my face.

His blue eyes studied my face while my blue/grey eyes studied his. Our eyes locked on each others and we both screamed

"STARING CONTEST!!! READY SET GO!!!" We stared at each other

After two minutes, I blushed because it looked like he was staring into my soul

"You're staring into my soul..aren't you, Danny." He blushed and laughed

"I thought you were going to say that....but it's obvious you're staring into my soul." We laughed and continued staring.

Three minutes passed and I started daydreaming about random things, until I felt a hand grab my arm

"Who's touching me?!?!" I screamed and jumped up. I landed on something comfy

"Ouch!!! Geez, you're welcome.." Danny said from under me

"What happened??" I asked. Neither of us had blinked yet..or made eye contact

"You were going intangible and started going through your bed and I caught you before you could fully go through." He explained in a whisper

We made eye contact and blushed. I very slowly got off of him and kept staring into his eyes

"What happened?? I heard yelling..." Mom said from the door

Very slowly and very creepily, we turned our heads to her direction and just stared. Our eyes must be red. Mom jumped and went pale

"We're fine..." I said

"You two aren't doing anything...stupid, right??" Danny and I blushed and looked away

"Mom!!" She laughed and left

"Well wasn't that wonderful." Danny said with a smile

We stared. Ten minutes passed and neither of us blinked. Until....our dads came to my room

"HEY, KIDS!!!!" We jumped and both blinked

"YOU BLINKED FIRST!! NU UH, YOU DID!! REMATCH!!" We laughed and turned to face our dads before continuing

"Us and the ladies are going to the store...do you two need anything??" Dad said

"Nope. Were good, Mr.Starlight." Danny glanced at me and winked.

"Okie dokie then!! Just give me a ring if you need anything!!" They left and we laughed

They left five minutes later and we went into the kitchen. I sat on one of the benches and Danny sat on the counter
