Ethan's pov

I think it's working! I made sure we had an amazing day today on our walk. She couldn't stop laughing and smiling...I feel so terrible doing this but it's what I was made to do right? Hunt humans....kill them...but one goal all of us shadows have is to find the doves heart. We get a sense when we are near it and I know she has it I can feel it....just where is she keeping it! We both sat down on the couch "that was fun" she stated with a smile I nodded in agreement " maybe now is my chance to get to her. I slowly slid my hand into hers and smiled softly at her her cheeks lit up red and she stared at me "w-what are you doing?" I leaned in slowly and planted my lips on hers she almost seemed to enjoy the kiss when all of the sudden she pulls away and pushed me back mumbling something. She stormed off and I sat confused.

Liz's pov

I felt Ethan slowly slide his hand into mine I stared feeling my face heat up red. He leaned in and kissed me I wasn't sure what to do! I-I don't even know him! W-what if he's using me! Toying with me! I pushed him away quickly and got up "dick" I said under my breath as I walked out an to my room. I slammed the door shut with an angry sigh. I sat on my bed. I knew it...I don't want to hate him but I'm not ready to even trust him yet or even let him have control over me! I can't even belie-...my thoughts were cut short by a knock on the door "hey Liz? I'm sorry...I...uh...can you just come out here? I want to apologize face to face" I got up and opened my door. "Why did you do it? Are you trying to play me? Do you think I'm a fool!?!" I yelled angrily. "I'm sorry! I-i just thought it was a good time to let you know how I feel about you..." "Feel about me?!!!" I laughed and facepalmed "you think i don't know the truth about you huh?! At regency I ran into all kinds of shadow souls! I know your not the only one!!! And each time they try to get something from me! Well guess what your not getting anything from me you filthy monster! I know how to deal with your kind freak!!"

Ethan's pov

I heard what sh said and normally would have been fine....I think it was this point I realized. I do care about her. If she dies I would never have that heart. She's been through much she sees through all of my lies..maybe it about time I just tell her the truth... "Liz...I want to tell you about what you are and what you have that's so important to us shadows..." She nodded "you have something called a doves heart it's a heart that we want but can't reach unless it's earned..there are two ways to get it. One way is to kill you and take it or just to earn your love trust and truly love you ourselves and...I want your trust....I want your love.....believe me Liz.....you have mine." She stared "tell me why you were being chased and I'll trust you but I don't live easily" she hissed. " I was being chased because I have something called a deathstone on my head...I was sent here to get the heart and head back and leave within a week. I had been watching you and I couldn't be sure you were the one with it my week had gone by the time I realized and after that everything wanted me dead..." She stared more and thought a minute then. Slowly slid her arms around me hugging me. shes fallen for it! I thought happily. I will have the heart in no time!

Liz's pov

I slid my arms around Ethan and pulled him in tight for a hug. Maybe I can learn to love him...in my head he's still a monster..a freak here to use me...but if it means he can live if I help him..then I'll do it, I'll try to love him "ok...I will try to love you Ethan...ill try" i whispered softly. I never saw myself with a shadow soul. Especially not one like him... "So what do you use my heart for?" Ethan blinked then smiled "it will make whoever it is given to immortal and strong. Whoever gets it is able to do good or bad with it that's why it's important the right shadow gets it" I nodded "what if none of them are right?"
