"Everything I was afraid of happening , happened."

About fifteen minutes later we pulled into a nice neighborhood. It looked like the ones you'd see on the front of a magazine - perfectly cut green grass and nice modern houses, over all it was neat and fancy.

We kept driving straight until we pulled into the drive way of one of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen.

It was grey and had a very modern, clean look. There were large windows in the front of the house making it look more open and inviting.

I couldn't help but gawk at its beauty.

"You ready to see the inside of it?" Lucas said, while watching me with an amused expression.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." I mumbled.

I unbuckled my seatbelt and stepped out of the car, to see that Lucas already had my bags and made his way up to the front door.

I started walking up the driveway and nodded my head as a way to say thanks , when he opened the house door for me.

As I entered the house I couldn't help but gasp, somehow the inside was even more beautiful than the outside.

How can my father afford all this?

"You're dad should be here soon, mean while why don't you follow me to your room and get situated?" He kindly offered.

"Okay." I followed him through a maze of hallways until we finally reached a closed door.

"You will find that getting lost in this house is very easy, but you'll come to memorize your way sooner or later." Lucas explained with a friendly smile.

I nodded in response, not quite sure what to say. He opened the door and led my bags into the room for me. Shortly after , he left me with privacy to unpack my things. Letting out a sigh, I decided to look around the room.

The room was a tan color with a white queen sized bed sitting in the center of the room. Next to the bed was a nightstand, a beautiful bookshelf, and a wardrobe; all of them a vibrant white.

I began unpacking the necessities out of my bag,
noticing a small couch and flat screen tv located to the left of my bed.

Being too lazy to unpack the rest at the moment, I went and sat on the couch, looking for any good shows to watch. With my great luck, there was nothing on. So I ended up being forced to watch a Korean cooking channel.

I felt my eyes drooping and before I knew it, sleep took over me.

I was woken up by the sound of someone knocking on my bedroom door. I sat up and let out a groan when I felt a crick in my neck.

Stupid couch.

"Yes?" I called out to whom ever was on the other side of the door, while lightly massaging my own neck.

The door slowly opened and revealed a boy with brown hair who looked to be about my age, maybe a little older. He just stood there with out saying anything and looked at me as if he couldn't believe I was here.

Breaking the awkward silence I let out a cough, which apparently was enough to break him out of whatever trance he was in.

"Oh sorry, I just can't believe you're here." He said as he walked towards me , reaching for a hug.

I quickly swatted his arms away , "Um, do I know you?" I asked honestly, trying my best not to sound rude.

His face turned to a look of confusion, with a little bit of sadness. " You don't know who I am?"

"Should I?" I suddenly became very puzzled.

"I can't believe he didn't tell you." He mumbled under his breath, sounding angry.

"Tell me what?" I asked, letting my curiosity get the best of me.

"Oh, nothing." He said looking up with a forced smile. "I just came in here to tell you that dad is- I mean your dad is here."

Not my dad.

"Okay, let me freshen up first." I told him, standing up from the couch.

He nodded in response before walking out of my room, shutting the door along the way.

Pushing out all of my thoughts about what just happened, I grabbed some random clothes out of a box and hopped in the shower.

As I scrubbed my body with soap , I couldn't help but think about what my life was going to be like here. I'll be starting my senior year , without knowing a single person. Part of me is happy about that, nothing could be worse than the kids at my old school.

I rinsed the soap off my body , looking up towards the ceiling.

I wish you were here , mom.

A/n sorry, short chapter.
