Gabby's Pov
I had just walked in to the firehouse when Shay and Sylvie came running over to me.
Shay- We missed you.
Sylvie's How u feeling?
Gabby- Guys I'm good but I really would like some time.
First call of the day
1208 Strattonburg Avenue.
Structure fire.
Ambo 61, truck 81, squad 3.
Casey's Pov
Casey- Nice to have you back Gabby, now let's go fight fires.
At the fire
Casey's Pov
When we got to the fire there was this 3 floor apartment building with people running out from every direction.
Severide- We have to do a full search. Casey can u get chief to approve.
Casey- he's on his way.
When we told chief we needed a full search be told us to take all our men and we only have five minutes to search all the floors.
Casey- Let's do this.
Gabby's Pov
I ran in ready to fight this fire like any other. I started clearing the third floor and rooms knowing we had only five minutes. I was on the last and chief called out over his walkie.
Chief- Two minutes left
I busted through the last door and saw a little kid two or three years old.
I picked him up and he held on me to dear life as I checked the apartment and then saw no one. As I was exiting I could tell the fire was heading up.
I quickly closed the door.
Gabby- Chief I'm stuck on the third floor I need back up now.
Otis- Gabby hold on we're coming.
Chapter 6 PT. 2
Gabby's Pov
I held the kid as close to my turn out gear. Hoping the help would come soon.
Otis- Gabby ladders out.
I ran thru the window and on the the ladder.
Severide met me half way and helped me get down. When I got down I rushed over to Sylvie and Shay. I tried giving them the little kid but he held on to me with the little bit of strength he had. Matt told me I could go with them to the hospital and he would try to find the mom.
