KINGDOM HEARTS: Enchanted Enlightenment

Chapter 9

As she walked through each of the doors she began to think about what she had seen.

"I wonder what happened to those people...what was that place?" She asked herself.

She noticed the castle was a bit too quiet and those people in the black coats hadn't showed up in a while.

She shrugged it off and continued to go through each of the doors until she reached this one long hallway.

She walked and walked then heard a voice.

"This way."

She turned around to see Namine standing behind her.

"Come with me...I have to show you something."

She followed Namine to a room where there was something in the middle it looked like a giant flower with a clear pod. 

She got a closer look and saw Sora in a comatose state.

"Sora?...wh- why is he in there?!" Kimiko asked frantically.

"It's okay...he's just fine...see I'm a witch with powers over Sora's memories...and those around him."

"So...he's asleep?"

"Yes...i took apart his memory to help Organization 13...but now i'm putting them all back just as they were...before he came to Castle Oblivion."

"So, he won't remember anything about the castle?"

"No...he will have his old memories."

Kimiko smiled.

"I'm glad he's okay."

"I will take care of him...I also messed with some memories I found of yours."

"my memories?"

"Yes...being in this castle some I saw some memories of yours...I saw a blue charm."

Kimiko took it out.

"This one?"

Namine nodded

"I couldn't quite understand your memories, they're all broken, If you want...i can keep you here and find them..but i'm afraid if I do that...you may forget some things."

"Forget?"

"You may no longer remember your friends."

Kimiko looked at the pod suddenly they heard the door open and turned around to see Riku

"Are you Namine?" He asked.

"Yes." She answered.

"I see, that was you." He said

"Huh?"

"Nevermind."

He looked up seeing Sora asleep in the pod.

"Sora! What have you done to Sora?!"

"Nothing..he's just asleep to get his memory back."

Namine explained to him what she did.

"So Sora chose to forget about this place and get his old memories back?"

"Riku, you have a choice to make too."

"Why me too? No one's messed with my memories."

"It's not your memories, it's your darkness...in your heart there is darkness and in that darkness is Ansem, he may be at bay for now but eventually he'll awaken and take over you just as he did before."

"You mean you can take the darkness out of his heart for good?" Kimiko asked.

"Not exactly...but with my powers I can put a tight lock on it so Ansem won't come out from inside of his heart."

"Will I sleep like that too?...he doesn't even look worried. He's supposed to be looking after Kairi and here he is just taking a nap."

Kimiko nudged him.

"I was joking." He said

Namine giggled then looked at Kimiko

"Kimiko...have you chosen?"

Kimiko looked at Riku and then Namine.

"I'll stay the way I am...I don't want to forget my friends they're special to me...but I don't understand, how being in Castle Oblivion brought memories I didn't even know I had." She said.

"That...I'm not sure of either...but something about this place drew your heart in and allowed me to see broken pieces of memories you had...memories are never really lost, they're somewhere in your heart." Namine told her.

"Maybe...I do dream of weird things sometimes...things i've never seen...but if gaining those memories mean losing what I remember now...i'll stay as I am."

"I knew you'd say that...Riku...please choose too." She said

"If Ansem returns...I'll be ready to face him...it's the way it has to be...i'm ready to fight Ansem."

"Are you sure Riku?" Kimiko asked.

"It's something I must do...i'm gonna fight Ansem."

"But what if his darkness overtakes you?"

"If that happens the darkness will show me the way."

"Yes that is true."

"Why do I get the feeling you knew i'd say that?"

"I didn't know, I hoped, I wanted you to face the darkness...because only you can."

"So thats why you came to me inside that light...in the form of Kairi."

"When'd you know?"

"I knew when I met you...you and Kairi smell the same."

Riku looked at the both of them then walked away.

"Take care of Sora" he told Namine.

"Thank You Namine, will we ever meet again?"

"Most likely, once I finish with Sora's memories we will meet again...your heart is strong, soon your memories will return to you...I know it."

Kimiko smiled and held onto the blue charm she found.

"I will see you soon Namine." She said walking to follow Riku.
