Chapter 10

Kimiko walked through the door to see Riku speaking with King Mickey and a man dressed in red and black with bandages covering his face.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Kimi...you shouldn't be here." Riku said.

The man looked at her and smiled.

"Kimiko?...I see you have also chosen a path."

"How'd you know that...how do you know my name?"

"I know many things."

"Jeez do you ever give a straight answer?" Riku asked.

He chuckled.

"Kimiko...in some odd way your heart is tied to this castle...take this." He said handing her a black organization coat.

"You mean the Organization will try to find her too?" Riku asked.

"Yes...i'm afraid so."

"But why?" King Mickey asked.

"She holds a power that they will try to find."

"will this protect me?" She asked.

"It will keep your power within your heart sealed, the organization will not be able to find you as easily...but be cautious they will try."

"As for you Riku...do what needs to be done to face Ansem." He said giving him a card then disappearing.

"Let's go" Riku said.

The three of them walked to the door. Riku made King Mickey promise him to destroy his heart if he loses but King Mickey refused promising he'll be there beside him reassuring Riku that he is stronger than Ansem.

"Riku...you can beat him...you can fight him with the darkness and the light you have within you...you have one thing he doesn't have...Friends."

"That's right, no matter what I'll be right here with ya." King Mickey said.

"Thanks guys." He nodded and went through the door.

Kimiko watched as he walked in and her eyes welled up with tears. King Mickey held her hand.

"He will be just fine...don't you worry...I'm here for my friends."

"Thank you your Majesty."

"Just call me Mickey."

"Okay...Mickey? Do you think...the organization..."

"Everything will be just fine...I will be there to help ya when you need it."

Kimiko smiled.

Pretty soon there was a rumble and King Mickey disappeared and turned into a ball of light appearing in front of Kimiko.

"King Mickey?"

"I'll be right back...I gotta help Riku."

Pretty soon the two of them returned.

"Riku!" She said hugging him.

He chuckled.

"So Riku what happens next Are ya goin home?"

"I can't go home. Not yet...it's still here...it's really faint but I can sense him...so I think his darkness may still have a hold on me."

"Your darkness belongs to you just as your light does."

"That's right Riku...your darkness is what is making Ansem weaker...you've overcome your fears." Kimiko told him.

"Gosh I always thought darkness was something that shouldn't exist but after I met you I changed my mind...seeing the two of you...light and darkness existing together, side by side and the road you chose...I didn't know."

"Without darkness there would be no light and without light no darnkess would exist." Kimiko said.

"You're absolutely right...you know i'd like to see that road myself...i'd like to walk the road with ya." King Mickey said.

"Your Majesty I'm really flattered."

"Gosh Riku you don't have to call me that...we're pals."

"Fair enough...Mickey"

"I want to walk down the path too...I need to find some answers about my past...this may show me the way." Kimiko said putting on the cloak given to her.

Riku had a worried look but he knew she was capable.

"Okay then it's settled...let's go." He said.

Riku and Mickey put on theirs as well and walked through the door to the exit. They walked down a seemingly endless path soon they ran into the man in red again.

"What are you making me choose now?"

"The path to light or the path to darkness."

"Neither suits me...i'm taking the middle road." Riku said walking passed him.

"You mean the road of Twilight to nightfall?"

"No...its the path to dawn." Riku said.

The three of them continued on their way. Riku was quiet the entire way looking as if he were deep in thought.

"Riku?" Kimiko said.

"Hm?"

"What do you plan to do after you face Ansem again?"

"When he awakens again...I will just have to battle him...after that I can regain full control of my heart. Then once it's all over everything will go back to how it was."

"That sounds great...I know you can beat Ansem...I don't know what it is but when I saw Ansem something in my heart felt pain."

"Kimi...you have a pure heart...Ansem is filled with darkness he uses for evil...your heart could not bear it."

"Hmmm." King Mickey said.

"Huh?" Kimiko and Riku said.

"I wonder what he meant by Kimiko's heart was tied to the castle."

"I'm not sure but maybe we will find out soon." Kimiko said.

"Yea...for now let's keep going." Riku said.

They walked and walked pretty soon there was a bright light ahead and they walked through it.

When Kimiko opened her eyes she realized she had been separated from Riku and King Mickey.

"Riku? King Mickey? Where are you?" She looked around seeing a place she had never seen before.

"Where....am...I?"
