Chapter 3 - Jared's P.O.V.

"Goodnight buddy. Be good for Pa-pi and No-No. I love you." I said and kissed Mason's nose and forehead. I went to set him down but he had his arms rapped tightly around my neck. Then his legs are around my waist. His hold on me is really tight. So it was impossible to get him off with out hurting him right now.

"Don't go Dada!" Mason cried. Literally. He had tears going down his adorable, red stained face and he was sniffling pretty bad. My son was tired.

It was Sunday night, and I was trying to leave. It was 8 at night and Mason should have already been in bed. But every time I went to go put him down, he would ball his eyes out and he would try to get me to stay with him. So, like he's doing now, he's got a death grip on my neck from his little hands and his legs are around my torso, squeezing me tight to make sure I don't leave.

Xavier told me today at work that when I get home, I have to clean up. Get Mason ready, and put to bed for the night. Then we were off to go to a club. He told me I needed to go, I needed to relax.

But Mason just would not let me go. He wouldn't release his hold on me.

"Mase, I'm just going out for a couple hours with a friend. I will come back and see you. If you want me to I will go into your room when I get back and say hi. But you better get straight back to sleep." He nodded his head on my shoulder and loosened his grip. I smiled and kissed the top of his head again and rested my cheek against his head.

I started walking up the stairs with him in my arms to take him to his room. I had already sang to him so all I had to do was put him in his bed and tuck him in.

I pushed open his door that said MASON in big red letter. I smiled. I walked into and almost fell from stepping on one of his trucks. I heard a giggle from Mason.

"Are you laughing at me?" I asked while throwing him on his bed. It made him bounce a few times while he squirmed and giggled.

"No, Dada. I didn't." Mason replied with the most serious face he could put on but he was still smiling.

"I think you did." I said then started tickling him. He started kicking and giggling.

"STOP!!! DADA STOP!! NO-NO, PA-PI, HELP!!!" Mason yelled. But he was giggling and kicking at me the whole time.

I stopped and smiled at him. "Ok, time to go to sleep munchkin." I told him then seen him frown and tears start to form in his eyes. "Don't cry i will be back. I love you." I told him and tucked him into his blankets then wiped his tears that were starting to fall.

"Dada!" He yelled. His big blue eyes still forming tears.

"What bud? I'm right here, you don't have to yell."

"Pwease, don't weave daddy!" He yelled again with tears. "Sweep wight here wid me!"

"You know I'm leaving. I will be back later tonight. Now, don't make me get Pa-pi." I told him, trying to be stern but really couldn't when my heart was breaking because he didn't want me to leave. He didn't want his dad to leave. "I will stay with you till you fall asleep." I told him and laid down in his tiny Lightening McQueen bed, pulling him so he was laying on top of me. Seems how I found out that its a way to get him to sleep easier.

"I wuv you Dada." Mason murmured right before he fell into a deep sleep of him snoring. I smiled and kissed his head then moved him so he was lying down on his back on the bed. I pulled the blankets up around him.

"I love you too, munchkin." I whispered, then stood up and out his bedroom door.

"You sir, are such a good father." I turned to the voice. I looked beside Mason's door that I just walked out of. And sure enough, there stood, Xavier and his wife hanging off his arm.
