"You're a fucking idiot."
"I know, Al." I smiled weakly at my closest friend. "I just... decided to go through with this."
"See? You're a fucking idiot." A mother walking by shot a dirty glance at Allison and covered her son's ears.
I stopped walking to let Tybalt, my yellow lab, sniff suspiciously at a tree stump. "Language," I reminded her. "We are in a public park, you know."
"Ah, shit. I don't give a damn." Allison winked at me, cigarette hanging out of the corner of her mouth. "But don't change the subject. When did you decide to move to great ol' Nebraska?"
"A few days ago." I said, watching Ty sniffle at the grass.
"Well, that's stupid." I deflated, and Allison sighed. "It's your life. Do whatever you want with it."
I smiled softly at her. "Thanks, Al."
She stared at a clump of trees in front of us and blew a stream of smoke into the air. "Whatever. I'm not helping you move, though."
