Changing Perrie Chp 4

Chapter 4

I sat anxiously on the couch. My knees bouncing up and down, my hands shaking. I couldn't take it anymore. Where on earth was Jade? How long does it take to eat?

I checked my phone for about the 30th time. She had been gone for only a half hour, but it seemed like three years.

Jesy was still asleep, and god only knows what Leigh Anne was doing in her bathroom for so long.

As for me, I had not moved from the couch since Jade left. I hadn't changed, I hadn't eaten, I haven't even peed yet.

I don't know why I'm so anxious over this. Not really sure as to why I care so much. I guess I just want to make sure Jade is alright. There's nothing wrong with being a good friend right?

All of a sudden the door opened  and I sprang up like a kangaroo.

"JADE!" I screamed as I nearly tripped and fell over our coffee table.

"Hi to you too Perrie."

"Jade can you please sit down the couch, I REALLY need to talk to you like now." I said pulling her by the arm.

She wiggled free from my grip. "Perrie I really don't feel like talking right now."

Something about Jade was definitely off. Where was the usual happy, smiley Jade after seeing Niall. Something must have happened between them. Or maybe she didn't really go to see Niall.

"Jade please its important!" I begged.

She let out a sigh and plopped down on the couch. "Fine."

I took a seat next to her and began. "Look I didn't mean to snoop, but I thought it was weird last night when you said you needed something from the kitchen. So I came back downstairs and I saw you taking one of your anxiety pills and I just wanted to make sure everything was alright."

She looked at me her eyes furious. "You were spying on me? What the hell gives you the right to do that?"

"No I didn't mean too I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I'm sorry I feel terrible." 

I began to bite at my nails. It's what I do when I'm nervous. Bad habit.

Jade looked like she just shot a puppy. "No Perrie, don't feel bad. I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you. You were just trying to be a good friend. Guess I'm just irritable at the moment."

"Its okay. I'm still sorry though. I shouldn't have spied. You're a big girl, you're allowed to take your pills without my concern."

"Perrie I was just feeling anxious, took a pill just to be safe. No big deal okay."

Phew. Thank god it was nothing serious, because Jade was acting weird still. I couldn't put my finger on it. What went down with her and Niall?

"So how was breakfast with Niall?"

"Fine."

Fine? No smiles, no blushing and no squeals? This is not typical Jade after seeing Niall.

"Fine? That's it?"

"What more do you want me to say?" She snapped.

"Nothing damn. Just usually your a lot happier after seeing Niall that's all."

She did not need to get snappy with me, I was just trying to help.

"Well sometimes I'm not okay?"

What the hell is her problem today?

"Jade what happened between you and Niall today?"

"Nothing okay?"

"Jade." I warned.
