Barry's P.O.V
I can't believe she said it, she finally said it. Those four words I have always hoped and imagined Iris saying to me 'I love you Barry'. But this doesn't change anything. I continue to rub circles on her back and didn't answer when she asked if I still loved her. I mean of course I still do, I always will, she's Iris. My Iris. But she can't be. There are going to be more people like the Reverse Flash, like Harrison Wells.
"Iris" She looks at me with her big brown eyes, that appear to be glossed over, along with an expectant look on her tear-stained face.
"Look, I still love you, I always will."
"Really?"
"Of course but--"
"Barry we can live a life together, have the life we both deserved!" I feel extremely bad, but I have to tell her we can't be.
"Iris, we can't be together, we just can't. There are lots of villains out there who we will eventually come across that will be ready to take whatever and whoever I love away from me. That means Joe, Cisco, Caitlin, and you Iris. I'm sorry." Now I can feel tears streaming down my face.
Iris is still looking into my eyes with an expression of sadness and shock.
"Bartholomew Henry Allen! You are not going to tell me no because you are worried about my safety."
"Fine! You want me to think about myself? Okay, then I say no because if you die I will be sad."
"Fine! Then don't think about yourself or my safety, think about my feelings."
Crap
She grabs the collar of my shirt and crashes her lips onto mine.
"I love Barry"
"I love you Iris" I didn't mean to let it out, but she basically bribed me with a thousand bucks.
With that she stands up and struts out the room, only looking back into my eyes once with a caring and loving look in her yes.
