Why are Mondays so...ugly? I know that hating Mondays is kind of cliché, but, do you know what would happen if Mondays didn't exist? Yeah, we would hate Tuesdays.
I mean, I don't completely hate Mondays, it's a love-hate relationship.
Although the fact of getting up early in the morning, and rush through my breakfast so I don't miss the school bus doesn't excite me, the fact that if I stay, four walls will imprison me and do nothing all day long doesn't make me happy either; the thought of being at home all day literally sickens me.

"Here we go", I whisper to myself as I put on my school uniform.
I dislike my school uniform, yet, I don't have to worry about preparing a nice and perfect outfit the night before.

"What are you doing today after school?", my sister's head pops behind my bedroom door.
"Uhm...I don't know, nothing...I guess", I reply
"Cool, I want to take you to a special place", she winks.
"Alright", I throw back at her as I start rushing down the stairs and into the kitchen.

I open the kitchen drawers and get some bread, butter, cinnamon, cheese and a plate.
"French toast for the hungry wolf", I think to myself as I start to prepare my breakfast.
I don't know why but I feel like this is going to be a great day.
Nothing can go wrong when you have French toast, right?

I start enjoying my glorious breakfast with some banana milkshake. Once I'm done, I put my utensils in the sink and dart through the door, curious as to what this day holds for me.

I go to the bus stop and wait for Mr. Ben, my bus driver, probably one of the funniest and coolest people to be known.
Once the bus arrives, I'm greeted by his contagious smile.
"Good morning Mrs. Hope, how is this amazing morning treating you so far?", he joyfully asks.
"Well, I had French toast for breakfast so I expect this day to become even better",I smile back at him.
"Well, climb up and let this day begin", he instruct me.

The bus is pretty empty because I'm one of the first students that are picked up, but I don't really mind. After 30 minutes or so of riding through the city we finally get to school, an hour earlier before the first class begins. Cool.

"There she goes, there she goes again...", I hear someone singing as I approach my classroom. I immediately spot May.
"Racing through my brain and I just can't contain" I follow her singing "How are you today?", I ask as I set my backpack on my seat.
"Goodie good. I was thinking that maybe you and Daniel would like to come to my house after class...?", she says.
"Uhm..." but I am supposed to go somewhere with my sister. I guess I'll go to May's house and with my sister later. "Alright, why not.", I finally reply.

After a lot of chit chatting before classes, the bell finally rings, and we all dart to our lockers, ready for this long school day to begin.

Math. One of the worst periods ever. Why is the most boring thing in the world our first class, on a Monday? That's torture. Well not for me as I don't really pay attention, most of the time I'm thinking of the most rand crap to ever exist, I imagine scenarios, sometimes I try to figure out how to get over a level I'm stuck in a videogame, and when I really want to harm myself with my own thoughts, I think about the future. I try not to think about it too much though, because when I do, I get terrified. Anyway, I still have two high school years left to figure everything out, but time goes by so fast.

Stressed Out by Twenty one Pilots is stuck in my head and smile at myself as how much my life and this moment relates to the lyrics of the song.

.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Ms. Lilian, the sub director of the school steps into the classroom.
Once she leaves, we all sigh in relief, man, she is an ogre.

Oh, the bell rings again, recess time.

"That's totally not how you do it!", Daniel yells at me
"Dude, you can't tell me how to eat my food!", I shake my burrito on his face.
"You exasperate me, Hope. I don't know in what moment we became friends", he acted disappointed.
"Because I'm cool enough to let a loser and bad actor like you to be my friend", I smile at him.
"If this burrito wasn't good enough I would slap you with it", he replies while taking a chunk of his dripping burrito.

This guy is such a dork, yet he's one of the most important people in my life. To be honest, I don't know how that happened either. Oh well, not going to question it.
"So, what are we doing at your place today?", I watch May taking a last bite into her cheese sandwich
"Videogames, as usual", she casually replies while taking a sip in her diet coke.
"I want to play Man Hunt this time", I demand
"But I want to play Skyrim!", Daniel pouty mouth demands.
"Ugh", May growls, "Hope, you'll play Man Hunt on my laptop while I teach Daniel how to correctly play Skyrim, for fudges sake".
"Deal", we reply in unison. Geeks.

School went by really fast today, I mean, when you have two hours of P.E time can go by real quick, unless you dislike physical activity, which most teens do actually, but as for me, I love it, although I'm not that of a healthy person when it comes to food.

"Welcome to my dungeon", May greets us into her home, "want something to eat!?", May asks from the kitchen.

"Always!", both Daniel and I yell back.
"I'm going to prepare everything for our gaming afternoon", Daniel says as he goes upstairs to bring everything that we need.
Hours go by.
4:00pm.
5:00pm
6:00pm
7:00pm
"How are you doing there, Hope? Killed any men yet?", Daniel asks in a burlesque tone.
"5 missions completed and I got May two new weapons", I wink.

I look at the clock in the laptop. 7:25pm "Shit!!", I suddenly stand up, making myself dizzy. I walk up to the sofa and grab my things, making them know that I have to leave.
"Why didn't you tell us that you had to leave early!?", May scolds
"I thought I had", I make my way to the front door.
"You won't be able to open it without the keys, smartypants",May throws me the keys and I do a perfect catch in the air.

We start running down the block, we notice weird people staring at us, we are just focused on getting to my home alive. While we are at it, I notice the beautiful sunset, yeah, the sun sets pretty late in my city, and I don't mind it. I wish I had my camera with me to take a shot of it. After running a few blocks from May's house, we finally arrive. My dad is fixing the car outside. Once he seems me coming, he pulls me in for a hug.
"Thank you guys",he smiles at May and Daniel.
"Goodnight sir.", they reply in unison and start heading back. Running. Their shoes making a nice melody while brushing the pavement. What a day.

"Are you hungry?", dad asks.
"I had something at May's, but I'll happily greet some more food in!", I rub my tummy.

I dart to the kitchen to see my mom preparing some tacos and french fries.

Once the dinner is ready, I dart to my room to eat. I love having parents that let me eat in my bedroom, I know that not every child has that privilege.
"Thank you sister of my soul for helping me out today!", Elaine, my sister exclaims as she breaks into my room.
"I'm sorry, I was at May's house and completely lost track of time", I reply with cat eyes.
"I guess you don't want to hang out with me tomorrow either, do you?", she turns her back at me
"I totally do", I pat her in the back
"Good",she leaves me alone.

Good talk, sister.
