Insightful Eyes

If eyes could talk
They would say lots of things
They would be realists
Seeing what they wanted to see

Constantly arguing with the mind about reality
And what the mind wants them to see

Those eyes would be alight with joy when around family and friends
Just like a firefly flying through the magnificent night sky

And when alone
Those eyes would feel sequestered
Forlornly staring into the night sky
Taking in the scenery and sensing reality

While still in a consecutive argument with the mind

As as those eyes close
The mind finally makes a decision

Between reality and fantasy
And as those eyes remain shut

The mind rewinds all the things that they eyes have seen
Combines it with all the things they have remembered

And for a short time period

Fantasy warps into reality

And becomes something called

A dream
