The First Day at Hogwarts

Scorpius

I woke up in my dormitory the next morning feeling even more tired than the night before. I was in a dormitory with 3 other boys my age. Albus, Nathan, a tall, skinny boy with blond hair and bright blue eyes, and Roman, a short, brown haired boy with dark green eyes. The boys had decided to play a game of Truth or Dare with the lights on and even though I didn't want to play, they kept me up with the lights on and laughter until around 1:00am. I climbed out of my bed groggily, changed my clothes, and walked down to the Great Hall for breakfast. Albus, Nathan, and Roman were already eating when I walked in. Albus waved and I walked over to the table and sat down to eat. Professor Slughorn came around soon afterward with our schedules and handed them out after breakfast. My schedule looked something liked this:
Double Potions - Gryffindors,
Transfiguration - Hufflepuffs,
Defense Against the Dark Arts - Gryffindors,
Lunch,
Free Period,
Double Charms - Gryffindors,
History of Magic - Ravenclaws
"Hey, we both have Potions, DADA, and Charms," Albus stated excitedly.
"And we have History of Magic and Potions together," Nathan said, smiling.
"I have Transfiguration with you too," Roman said quietly, he seemed a bit shyer than Albus and Nathan, but still nice.
"That's good," I said excitedly, "At least I will know somebody."

Rose

I had just received my schedule from Neville. I looked at it and compared it with the other girls in my dormitory. It looked something like this:
Double Potions - Slytherins,
History of Magic - Hufflepuffs,
Defense Against the Dark Arts - Slytherins,
Lunch,
Transfiguration - Ravenclaws,
Double Charms - Slytherins,
Free Period
"Rose, we have Potions, and Transfiguration together," Alice chanted.
"I have Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration with you," Harlee said excitedly.
"We will have Potions and History of Magic together," Taylor said, while eating her bacon.
"Yay!" I chanted excitedly, glad that I had somebody I knew in almost every class. Alice, Taylor and I also had the same free period, Harlee's was right after lunch.

After we had finished breakfast we all walked to our first class, Taylor, Alice and I to Potions and Harlee went to History of Magic. We walked into the dungeons right before class was about to start. I saw Albus, Scorpius, and some other boy I didn't know, sitting at a table with 1 extra seat and ran to sit with them before I realized that my dorm mates wouldn't have a seat.
"We'll just go sit at the open table two rows behind you. Have fun!" Alice told us.
"So, how's your dormitory Albus?" I asked.
"It's good, Scorpius and I are in the same dormitory and this is Nathan, he is also in our dormitory." Albus answered. I glared at Scorpius and smiled at Nathan.
"So...what went on between these too?" Nathan asked pointing to Scorpius and I, who were now glaring at each other quite harshly.
"Well, they kind of had a fight on the train. She's a Weasley and he's a Malfoy, old family rivalry never really fades I guess." Albus responded.
"Oh, I've heard about the Malfoy's and the Weasley's." Nathan said a little quieter this time. Then Professor Slughorn started talking to us about what we would be doing during the year. After the classes for the morning it was time for lunch. Lunch was a mixture of different types of sandwiches. After lunch it was time for Transfiguration.

After Transfiguration was another dreaded class with the Slytherins. It was nice to see Al, but not so fun to see Malfoy again for the third time today. I sat next to Albus and Scorpius again. Charms was my one class that I had none of my dorm mates in it with me. Professor Smith explained to us how to do the 'Wingardium Leviosa' charm. We started trying to levitate our feathers and the only one who could manage it after a couple of tries was Malfoy.
"How did you do that Malfoy?" I said shocked.
"I don't know, Weasley, I just did it!" He answered matter-of-factly.
I tried and tried until after about the 20th try I finally saw my feather lift off the desk. I was so excited I finally did that I waved my wand too much and the feather flew and whacked Malfoy right in the face before falling in front of him. I laughed.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Malfoy asked, quite loudly. The whole class went silent.
"I don't know, just for fun!" I retorted back smiling. He growled and then sent his feather right at my face. I ducked so it hit Bailey Woodworth, a fellow Slytherin, who was sitting right behind me. She screamed and slapped Malfoy in the back of the head.
"STOP FIGHTING, ALL OF YOU!" Professor Smith yelled at us.
"Yes, Professor Smith," we all responded sheepishly. Then we all went back to our charms.

When class was over I ran out and sat by the lake to work on my homework and read a Muggle book my mum had sent me called The 5th Wave during my free period. I met my dorm mates at dinner an hour later.
"Where have you been?" Alice asked.
"I was out by the lake working on homework and reading a book my mum had sent me." I responded. Alice nodded. After dinner we walked back to our dormitory all laughing at a joke Harlee had told us. We played a game of Truth or Dare to get to know each other better in our dorm. Around 11:00pm we all decided that it was time for us to say goodnight since we had classes the next morning.
