"What to wear, what to wear?" I ask as I pace back and forth in my room. I had a variety of possibilities with almost no time to choose since it was already 7 pm and Austin was coming for me.
"Ava, are you ready?" My mum screamed at me from across the house.
"No. Why mum?"
"Seems like someone is here to pick you up," She screamed back in a sing-song manner.
Are you kidding me? It's barely 7. What is running through this boy's head? I quickly throw on a pair of black jeans, a cute white top, and a navy blue cardigan with black Converse. I quickly brush my teeth, put on some lipstick and perfume and zoom out the door.
"Hey guys," I breathe out as I slow my pace down.
"I know you like me but we don't have to leave for another hour," Austin smirks and all I can do is smile.
"Shut up, dummy," I say as I lightly punch his arm.
"Ms. Swan I think I might die. That hurt so much," he playfully retorts, holding his arm as if it was about to fall off.
"You big baby, suck it up," I say as I stick out my tongue
"Ahem," My mother coughs to interrupt our little session. "Hi, I'm Ava's mom. Call me Taylor."
"Hi, I'm Austin. Pleased to meet you, Ms. Swan. You have a beautiful daughter."
I scoff. "You barely know me."
"You don't need to know someone completely to know that they flipped your world upside down," He said while reaching for my hand.
Don't I know it?
"Austin, you charmer," My mom flushes.
I burn a crimson red. For a jock, he was quite the gentleman.
"Let's go." I tug his shoulder.
"Have her back by 10," My mom screams as we run out the door.
"She'll be back by 9:30," Austin screams back.
On the outside, I was smiling, but on the inside, I was cringing. Seriously dude? If you're going to kiss my mom's bum the whole time... Just don't. Okay?
We get into his black Corvette while laughing like a bunch of maniacs.
"So can I finally know where we're going?"
"No way, Princess," He smirks.
"Hi Princess," he says with a boyish charm in his voice.
What the hell? Why did Ben's voice pop up in my head? That was weird.
"Aw, okay then. Be like that," I complain while crossing my arms.
Austin just smiles, showing me his glowing white teeth and a smile that'll make a girl melt.
It seems like forever but we finally reach our destination. To me, it seemed like we're in a the middle of nowhere but Austin was so jittery and happy about where we were that it made me smile like a dork.
"So where are we?"
"Don't say anything. Just. Look. Up."
I don't hesitate to listen to his words and immediately look up to see the millions of stars above us, surrounding us, and lighting up the heavens in a way one can only describe as amazingly beautiful. No, it left you speechless and sent chills down your spine.
"Do you like it?" I hear a crackly voice ask me as I feel a warmth in my hands.
"Yeah..."
"Good," that voice says. "Why are your hands cold?" I feel a familiar breath on my hands, warming my hands and my body at the same time.
"Austin, thank you."
"No problem, Princess," he says through his golden smile.
I smile and his eyes twinkle like the millions, no billions of stars above us. They sparkled with lust and happiness, leaving a trail of wondrous light and beauty.
"What are you thinking?" I ask staring into the blue orbs he calls his eyes.
"I'm thinking about how much I hope you like this date and about how much I want to kiss you," He says staring straight into my eyes,
"You've done it once, you can do it again."
Almost immediately after I finished my sentence, he gingerly placed my face in his hands and kissed me lightly. Soon the kiss became hungry and passionate, his dominant side gradually exposing itself. I broke the kiss soon after, just to make sure nothing crazy happens tonight.
"Wow," I pant.
"Yeah," he says as he rubs his bottom lip with his thumb. Leaving me in a dazed state, he pulls me close to him and I lean my head on his chest.
"You know, at first, I thought you were an idiot..." I state.
"Oh really?" He asked in a surprised tone.
"Yeah," I answer sarcastically. "I just realized you're just a romantic idiot. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Wow okay. I'm hurt," He says playing off the words like it was dust on his shoulders.
He raised his hand up to check something and picked me up and slung me over his shoulder.
"Hey!" I scream as I punch his back, his very muscular, built back.
"It's time to get you home, Princess," He says as he opens the passenger's door and carefully places me in my seat.
"Already?"
"Yeah. I said 9:30. It's already 8:45."
"Okay. Fine."
He starts the car and drives away from the opening where countless stars told numerous stories in a matter of seconds.
"So about tonight... What did you think?" He asks, his tone clearly nervous.
I don't speak. I just lean over and kiss his jawline and sit back down.
"I'm taking that as an 'awesome.'"
"Clearly you dork," I say as I lean back a bit, and fall asleep, letting darkness surround me and take me into beautiful slumber.
