Chapter 1- Have to prove

Skye's POV.

We arrived at the Simon's house at about noon. The other contestants were already there, running around the house. Dakota was jamming out as she climbed out of the car, Aria was shaking her head at Dakota, while I just fiddled with my bracelets. Meanwhile, Dakota was getting a little out of hand so Aria pulled out her headphones.

"Why's you do that?" Dakota pouted.

"Because, I just did." Aria scowled. I looked down at my clothing to find white shorts, a light floral blouse, and light pink flats to match the flowers on the blouse. Aria was wearing shorts as well, but they were regular blue, paired with purple plaid shirt, ballerinas, and a headband. Dakota was wearing a John Mayer Continuum tour shirt, red shorts, red bowler hat, and black vans. I swear, that girl had a hat for every outfit.

"Race you to the beach!" I shouted as I started to run. The two girls chased after me as the others looked at us. I pulled off my shoes and ran into the water. Dakota and Aria pulled off their shoes, pulled out their phones, and ran into the ocean with me. Then the rest came down to join us. We jumped around, splashed, and laughed as the time flew by.

"Alright guys, who's going first?" Demi asked as I looked up. There stood Simon and Demi at the edge of the sand. I bit my lip while Aria started to laugh. The boys went first, and then it was the girls, then it was the older people, and lastly was the groups. We dried ourselves off and grabbed our shoes.

"This reminds me of the time when Jason pulled us into the pool at the neighborhood party." I laughed. The other two laughed as the memory came to mind. 'But I'm not worried, No I'm not worried. And I'm doing just fine, I'm always landing on my feet.' I thought in my mind. Dakota had gotten me addicted to that song which she heard from Pandora. We were called just as we reached the landing in front of the house. Tugging our shoes on, we were led through the house.

"Hey girls, how are you?" Simon asked, smiling.

"We're good, how about you two?" Dakota asked out of habit.

"Good"

"Great" Were their replies.

"Go for it." Demi stated. Aria headed to the piano while Dakota and I grabbed the mics. She started the familiar tune as we took a breath to sing. The verses we were singing had our feelings into them, pretty much describing them.

"You've got the words to change a nation

But you're biting your tongue" I sang

"You've spent a life time stuck in silence

Afraid you'll say something wrong" Aria sang

"If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?

So come on, come on

Come on, come on

You've got a heart as loud as lions

So why let your voice be tamed?" Dakota sang

"Maybe we're a little different

There's no need to be ashamed" I sang

"You've got the light to fight the shadows

So stop hiding it away

Come on, come on" Aria sang

"I wanna sing, I wanna shout

I wanna scream 'til the words dry out

So put it in all of the papers,
