CHAPTER 1:
Stacey Black's POV:
THERE WAS silence in my room, but there were voices screaming in my head. There was a storm of thoughts raging in me. I couldn't control my wolf... And now, I wouldn't be able to attend the training.
I felt weak, mentally and physically. Were all the things, that the Warrior had said to lure me, actually true? Could I not lead my pack now?
"Seriously, what were you even thinking?!" Rhythm asked as she plopped on the bed in front of me and sat cross-legged.
I felt a little uncomfortable and shifted slightly. I grabbed a pillow which was lying next to me and hugged it. I knew going all alpha on Warrior Jones wasn't the best thing I'd done in my life. But I didn't need a constant reminder about what had happened this morning. My mind was playing enough games on me already; giving me enough torture. The thought of not being able to lead my pack pushed me into depths of sadness.
"Stacey," Rhythm snapped her fingers, eventually pulling me out of my thoughts.
"You were doing well in the practice sessions... What happened?" she said in a concerned tone.
"Nothing," I sighed, looking away.
"Oh no no! Don't use the 'nothing' card on me. There's only so much I can take. You better start telling me," she said in a stern voice.
"We can kick Dan out if that's what's bothering you," she said shrugging her shoulders.
Dan, who was sitting by the bed post, perked up on hearing his name and glared at Rhythm. Her eyes widened for a moment before she smiled innocently at him. A small smile tugged at my lips at the exchange of expressions between my best friends.
Dan's eyes fell on the deep claw mark on my arm that he left this morning and shot me an apologetic look. I rolled my eyes at him and smiled hinting it was understandable, and that there was nothing to be sorry about.
"Stace?" He asked. I nodded, asking him to continue. "Did The Warrior talk about, uh...?" He started uneasily and left it hanging there.
My gaze fell to the floor. And I knew my silence answered the incomplete question because both of them fell silent after that.
'Mr. Hamilton's place in five minutes,' The Warrior mind-linked me.
"I have to rush to Mr. Hamilton's place. The Warrior asked me to report," RiRi sighed.
"Same here," I sighed.
"Hey! Why wasn't I asked to rush there?" Dan frowned.
"Because he knows you would come along even if uninvited," Rhythm laughed.
"Not true!" Dan gasped.
