CHAPTER 2

Stacey Black's POV:

I could hear my heart thumping against my chest. My eyes were wide with realisation. It was so hard to believe that this actually happened. Is this all a dream? Just when I'd lost all my hopes to find my mate, I actually found him? It all felt too good to be true.

"This is Alex," Chris laughed and pulled him by his arm and brought him closer to me. I took a better look at him, drinking in all his features. Messy blonde hair with brunette roots, green eyes with a hint of blue in them, sharp jaw line, smooth skin, and damn, those lips...

He stood quite tall at an almost six-foot frame. His t-shirt didn't fit his body, but it looked obvious that he had a sculpted body.

'Don't make it too obvious Stace,' RiRi teased. When I turned my head to look at her she was already giving me a knowing smile. I smiled happily at her and looked at Alex. Alex. That name alone made me want to grin from ear to ear.

I was going to open my mouth and introduce myself, when RiRi mind-linked again, 'The introductions are done! You were busy gawking at him then. Speak wisely!'

Err... How did I not listen to what people were talking around me?

"Hi," I smiled hoping it was 'wise', and put my hand forward for him to shake.

"Hi," He said in a blank tone and just nodded his head at me, ignoring my hand. I awkwardly pulled it back and dropped it so that it rested next to me. His face showed no emotion.

Why was he acting so weird; so distant? Didn't he feel what I did? My heart sunk a little at the thought.

I took in a breath of air to sniff his scent. And when the cinnamon like smell hit my nose, I realised he wasn't a werewolf, he was... a human.

Oh, well. I was mated to a human?

To say I was stunned would be an understatement. I couldn't decide if I was happy or not. I mean, I was definitely happy I found him... It was, perhaps, the unexpected that happened that swirled the emotions in me.

"Alright! Alex an' I need t'do some talking. Ya people could wait upstairs for us, aye?" Chris said as he stopped the train of thoughts in my head.

          "Is anything wrong?" Dan asked.

Chris froze for a moment before he gave a throaty laugh again and said, "Nothing! Just some insider stuff, y'know?"

Dan nodded at him and the three of us weaved our way through the scattered crowd to the elevator. Once we were alone in the elevator, Rhythm squealed and Dan pulled me into a hug.

"Damn girl! You finally found him!" Dan smiled happily at me.

"Quite a catch, at that!" Rhythm squealed again. Dan cleared his throat.

"What? I can't even call somebody hot now? Jeez, I'm in love with your brother, Dan, I'm not looking for anybody else," She sighed, shaking her head.

"Better," he smirked at her. "But I'd rather have you call me hot."

"Sure," she rolled her eyes. "Anyway! Coming back to the topic, not feeling sick anymore, eh, Stace?" She winked at me.
