Lizzie thought of how being twenty now and being a Fighter-born or Mage-born allowed them to enter the tri-tournaments; where Ranger-born, Fighter-born, and Mage-born would all compete for the title of head whatever they were, but this year there was a new twist that Lizzie wasn’t happy about. Instead there being one fighter, one ranger, and one mage the winners; only one of them would win by knocking the others out of the ring.
Rudy and Lizzie strolled through the entrance as the sun began to rise behind the mountains. He looked at Lizzie and watched her eyes grow big; then she turned to look at him. She pulled ahead and dragged him along as they rushed up to the sign-up sheet. Rudy went his separate way to sign in and met her behind the sign-in table.
Lizzie stared at Rudy as he pushed through the throng of people as he tried to reach her, but Peter Bow got to her first. “Hello Peter. I didn’t know you were entering the competition,” she said sweetly as Rudy finally reached her side. There had been a question in Rudy’s mind for years and she knew it was about Peter Bow and whether she like him better.
“Yea. I am Ranger-born; so I thought I would try at least. Well, See you later Liz,” he replied before he drifted off with the other people.
“Ready dear?” Rudy asked as he put his arm around her. He stared sadly after Peter, but when Lizzie looked at him he made sure to be smiling.
“Yes,” she said as he gently pulled her to where they would bunk for the night with the other people. She had requested that Rudy and her have rooms near another and luckily it had been allowed. She lay on the bed, while Rudy went to his room to think about things. She thought of how she was going to defeat all those people that were out there. ‘I only have to knock them out of the ring and I am only going to fight Fighter-born until the last time, which I may not even make it there. Oh, God help me!’ she cried in her thoughts before going to the small dresser and pulling out the outfit that the Fighter-born people had to wear. It was a pair of red blood pants and a red blood top. Lizzie hated the color and she held on them tightly as she concentrated on changing the color to a darker red. She opened her eyes to see that sadly they hadn’t changed much, but were just a tad darker. ‘A little better,’ she thought as she pulled them on. She picked a dagger and sword from the weapon rank near the door. She hung them by her belt and she put her hair up in a small bun, while her necklace lay inside her shirt.
