The third day in New York was when it really hit Lexa. Sure, she had cried the days prior, but now the intensity of the entire situation was finally getting to her. Her aunt, the only family she had, was dying, Lexa was in a city she didn't know full of people she didn't know staying for God knows how long until her aunt died. All she could do was wait and watch as her aunt got worse with each passing day.
''For fuck's sake,'' the 22-year-old muttered to herself. She came to New York to have a good time, to write for her blog, to see her aunt, and here she was. She hadn't even written anything for her blog yet. She hadn't even been on any form of social media yet at all.
Opening her Twitter app, she decided she would notify her fans - she was still surprised she had fans, all she did was talk about her travels and vlog every now and then - of what was going on.
@ LEXAdventures: Hey guys! Haven't been online these pas few days, it's because my aunt, who I'm staying with here in NYC, is very sick. I'll keep you posted
The minute she sent out the tweet, she got countless of retweets, likes and worried replies. She quickly logged off and decided to take a shower and get ready. It was still early and Lexa decided that today would be her day. Just Lexa, no one else. Absolutely no one else.

''Today is going to be so much fun!'' Clarke squeeled happily as she looked at a grumpy Lexa in excitement. ''Yeah, I'm so glad you agreed to this,'' Octavia nodded. ''I agreed to nothing. This is one of Clarke's agreements, meaning she will pester you forever and do it without your approval, anyway,'' Lexa said. ''That is exactly what an agreement is to Clarke,'' Raven laughed.
Lexa's plan to have the day for herself was wiped off the table thanks to an obnoxious blonde who had read her tweet and decided Lexa needed some 'girl time'. Lexa had always hated the term 'girl time'. Back home her best friends were a gym addict named Lincoln, two big guys who were both into wrestling, Nyko and Gustus, and a girl, Anya, who bonded with Lexa over martial arts, something Lexa had gotten into at the age of five.
Needless to say, 'girl time' had never been on their schedule.
''What even do you do during girl time?'' Lexa asked sceptically. ''Don't tell me it's painting your nails and getting your hair done and seeing a chick flick in the cinema,'' she then added pleadingly. Clarke laughed loudly. ''Don't worry, if we did that Raven would hate us forever,'' Octavia said. Lexa nodded. ''Good. Then what do you do?'' she asked. ''Well, usually we either go shopping or just eat food and watch Netflix and build pillow forts, but today, because you have never been to New York, we are going to show you around,'' Clarke told Lexa, who looked all but excited. ''I can't. I have to take care of my aunt. It is why I am here,'' she protested.
''No it's not. You're here because you wanted to see New York. Your aunt just so happens to be sick at the same time,'' Raven says. Lexa looks at her angrily. ''You're acting like that is nothing to be upset over. She is the only family I have left,'' Lexa snapped. ''Okay, okay, girls, please. Raven, what the heck? Lexa, I'm sorry,'' Clarke interfered. ''It's fine. It's not your fault. Sorry, I'm just a little stressed. I take my stress out on other people, sorry Raven. You're right,'' Lexa muttered. ''I'm sorry, too. I can be an insensitive asshole sometimes,'' Raven apologized. ''Sometimes? More like all the time,'' Octavia laughed, earning a shove in response. ''Sorry about my friends, they can be a little...'' ''Odd? It's fine, my friends are like that too,'' Lexa laughed. ''Tell me about them. About your friends.''
''Well, eh... Okay, so there is Anya, she's like a sister to me. We met when we were nine. We're both into martial arts so we bonded over that. Then there's Nyko, he's into wrestling, just like Gustus. They're big guys, broad and tall, they've got tattoos all over them, but they're sweethearts once you get to know them. And then there's Lincoln. Lincoln and I hated each other back in high school. He would have a crush on a girl and I would be the one to end up in a relationship with her. He hated it. I never did it on purpose, though.
