FOOLing Excalibur

Me and Phoenix where on the school’s balcony looking down at the school’s entrance “I hate the EAT class…” he snarled. I looked over at him confused “Correction you envy them. How’s about we go to Lord Death and ask him if we can join the EAT class?” I suggested. He sighed “no point.” He said. I looked down at a girl and a boy leaving the school on a motor-scooter “there’s nothing classy about that…” I moaned. Phoenix stood up straight “it’s all rusty…” I continued to moan. We heard crashing and the sound of grit flying a lot. “Someone’s brawling…” Phoenix pointed out. I leaned over to have a look “Kids from our class, they aren’t in sync with their weapons at this rate they could end up dead.” I pointed out “c’mon, we got that stupid lesson with Sid” Phoenix said. I don’t see the point in that lesson “I’m gonna pass, you coming?” straight after that I felt a weird presence. Phoenix walked over “Something wrong?” he asked. I nodded “something evil just entered death city. Let’s go!” we ran to where I sensed the trouble.

“Phoenix…” I whispered and he went into weapon mode. “Well?” he asked. I put my finger over my mouth and stepped slowly into a dark alley.  I looked up and there was this monster clicking his tongue “Okay…” I said and  I stepped back “was that what you sensed?” Phoenix asked “yeah, but it seems different from before…like his soul’s changed…” I explained.  He followed me with his head “Oh well Phoenix, let’s finished him quick, I’m hungry!” I groaned, holding my belly as it rumbled. I held Phoenix in front of me and the strange monster came down from in-between the two buildings, he stood up straight still clicking his tongue, he stood almost as tall as the buildings. He tried to attack me with his left claw or hand but a slid round him and cut him in half behind. Phoenix transformed back to normal “I should really get some gloves, you give me blisters!” I moaned. Phoenix started to dangle this red disgusting looking egg in my face “do you know what this is?” he smirked, I screamed and pushed it out my face “Phoenix that thing is disgusting, leave it alone!” I yelled. He laughed “seriously though, this thing is a kishin egg. We better get this to Lord Death.” He started to walk with the Kishin egg in his hand “a Ki...shin? What’s that?” I asked as I waddled to catch up “a Kishin? Oh it’s were someone eats loads of human souls and become corrupted, because of the power from the human souls.” He explained. I thought about it “so that’s the EAT student’s aim, to collect ninety-nine Kishin souls and one witches soul. To create the ultimate weapon: The death scythe.” I said to myself.

We finally made it to Lord Death “Hello, Hiya, nice to seeya, how’s it going?” he said. I stood at a distance because that Kishin thingy was still creeping me out “Lord Death Misty noticed a Kishin had gotten into the city so we took care of it.” Phoenix said “well aren’t you gonna eat it?” Lord Death asked. I feel to my knees, Phoenix spun round “you mean…weapons…eat those?” I pointed at the kishin egg. It made feel ill “well yes.” Lord death answered. “I can’t because we’re NOT students.” Phoenix exclaimed “What!? How long did it take you to finish that thing? I sensed it too. It was quiet powerful you know.” Lord Death pointed out. I stood up and dusted myself off and walked over to Lord Death, avoiding the kishin egg “About two minutes, he didn’t seem that powerful. He let his guard down quickly too.” I answered. There was nothing coming from lord death he just stood there frozen “Lord Death?” I asked “Sir?” Phoenix asked. He shook his head “and you two are NOT students?” we looked at each other sceptically then back at Lord Death “yes sir.” I answered. He paced the room, I was afraid so I hid behind Phoenix, keeping my distant still from that gastly thing. “Wait here one second.” He went to a mirror and started talking to Sid “Those two bunked my lesson and did what? In what time?” we heard him yell. “I think the fact he’s a zombie makes scaring the crap out of misbehaved students, easily scared just that bit more…” I whispered to Phoenix. He laughed “guess so.” He whispered back.

Before we knew it Sid was in Lord Deaths Office “I’m sorry Professor Sid, We won’t do it again I promise! It was my entire fault!” I cried. he picked me up “This Misty Cardell?” he pointed to me whilst i was dangling in the air, I did my best so no one could see my undies. Phoenix slouched and stuck his hands in his pockets “And that Phoenix?” Sid pointed at Phoenix. I started to dry my tears. “Yes, Sid. About Two minutes. I think they need to upgrade…” I looked confused at Lord Death “a Level-two NOT student?” Phoenix asked. He didn’t seem too happy about the upgrade. “No, upgrade to an EAT student level one!” he suggested. I clapped my hands “Yay!” I yelled. Phoenix stood there in shock “did you hear that phoenix we’re EAT students! That means you can become a Death Scythe!” I said with joy. He shook his head “For real?” he asked. Sid put me down. “But don’t think I won’t punish you for bunking my lesson! First things first, I need you two to retrieve Excalibur for me.” He said. I looked at Phoenix “Okay!” I said.

We came to a cave; I started to splash around in the puddles “Come on…” Phoenix grabbed the back of my scarf, I started waving back at the entrance of the cave “But I was having fun!” I moaned. We looked at the map Sid gave us “Excalibur is straight ahead.” We carried on walking and came to a sword in a stone. Phoenix went to pull it “Hold it Phoenix!” I walked up close to the sword and knelt down in front of it “It’s not in deep enough to be stuck…” I stood up “okay then that mean’s I can pull it out!” I smiled. I yanked the sword out “what’s the matter?” Phoenix asked. I waved the sword round a bit “I was expecting it to be a bit more…y’know.” I said “I know what?” Phoenix asked “Epic.” I finished, we thought about it, Phoenix walked over and tapped the sword “oh well let’s get this thing to Sid.” He shrugged and took the sword off me. I smiled and walked behind Phoenix then the sword changed to a funny looking elf guy “do you know who I am?” he asked “an elf?” I answered “FOOL! I am Excalibur, my history goes back to the 12th Century.” He waved this white cane in my face; I moved my head back a little so it wouldn’t hit me. “Do you young man know what it takes to be my meister?” he looked at Phoenix whilst still holding this cane in my face “I’m a weapon, I don’t ca-“ before Phoenix could finish Excalibur moved the cane into Phoenix’s facial space “FOOL! You have to finish thousands of requirements before you can become my meister one of which is a five hour story telling convention.” He explained. “you Girl, do you know what my day consists of?” I looked at him confused “sitting in a sto-“ before I could finish the cane was back in my face “FOOL! It consists of tea in the morning-“ Phoenix seemed angry “Hey spastic elf! She’s my mister why the hell would she put up with a moron like you for!?” he growled. He didn’t move “I think you broke him Phoenix…”I whispered “FOOL! Do not interrupt me!” he yelled. We sighed “well done Misty you jinx-“ Excalibur waved the cane in Phoenix’s face “Fool! We’re you not listening boy?” he asked. I had to end this quick “Mr Excalibur could you turn into a sword for me again, please?” I made a cute pout face “well since you asked so nicely…” as he was about to transform I caught him in my bag that i was carrying and strapped him in tight so he couldn’t get out “Now what you pain in the ass?” I smirked. Phoenix looked at me blankly “you can’t lift that thing can you?” he pointed to my bag “No chance!” I squealed attempting to do so.  Phoenix carried Excalibur and occasionally knocked him out by “accidently” smacking the bag against a tree on the way.

We went to Sid’s room “Professor Sid we’re back! Sorry we’re late we would have been sooner but Excalibur kept us talking…” Sid sat at his desk and looked at us blankly “what?” he said. Phoenix dumped the bag on Sid’s desk “I’ll buy Misty a new bag as long as you promise to burn this one…” he snarled. Sid looked at the squabbling bag “you’re supposed to kill the kishin and eat their souls not bring them to my desk!” he exclaimed. I waddled over to Sid’s desk “that’s not a Kishin, that’s Excalibur. Remember you asked us to retrieve him for you.”  I pointed out, Sid looked at the bag and then at us “you mean, you two…and he’s…oh no, what have I done…” two boys came running into Sid’s room, one had blue spiky hair and wore ninja out fit the other had black hair but only one side had horizontal white strips, he wore a black suit with a white T-shirt. “Is it true? Is Excalibur here?” they both said worriedly. I nodded and smiled, the guy in the suit grabbed a hold of me “why…? Do you hate us?” he asked “Blackstar? Kid?” Excalibur muffled. I smiled “No actually this is the first time we met. I’m Scythe Mister Misty Cardell and the tall red is my Scythe partner, Phoenix.” They looked us both and ran out the room screaming like girls.
