~Scarlets POV~
As we all rode in Stine's car into town we saw that all the light poles were broken, cars and stores were on fire. It looked destroyed. "Everyone in town has been frozen" Hannah said as we got out of the car. I looked around, she was right, the people were frozen like statues. "Oh my God. Oh my God, Dad. Dad, what happened to--?" Champ started but never finished as he examined one of the frozen guys. "Wait... Oh! Oh thank God! Guys, false alarm. It's not my dad" Champ told us making us sigh with annoyance. "What are we going to do?" Hannah asked. "Without those manuscripts there's nothing I can do" Stine sighed. OOH idea time, what does my brain have for ideas? "If you rote the monsters off the page, maybe you could write them back on" Zach said and Champ walked over. "Wait-- Yeah. Why don't you do that?" Champ asked. "Do you have any idea how many stories I'd have to write to capture every monster I've ever created?" Stine questioned. AH HAH, idea! "Just one. One story to capture them all" I told Stine. "Hmm, simple. Just one, one story with every monster I've ever created. Brilliant. Really good idea" Stine sarcastically told me. "Well do you have a better idea?" I sassed back, raising my eyebrow to the perfect arch. "Mm-hm, mm-hm. A much better idea" Stine lied to me. He paused and I waited for him to finish. "No, not now I don't, but-" "We gotta get you to a computer so you can start writing. All right, theres... *looks around* There's a computer store. Just break in" Zach interrupted. "No no no! I need my type writer" Stine called out for my brother. "What?" He breathed out, annoyed. "Every story I've written was on that Smith Corona. It's not just me! That typewriter is special. It has a soul of it's own. If I write on anything else it won't work" Stine explained. "Where's the typewriter?" I asked. Stine sighed and looked in the distance, remembering something. "Oh don't worry It's somewhere safe". "Why do I get the feeling it's at the high-school?" I asked myself as we all got into the car again.
"I don't know what's going on with my phone. I can't get reception" Zach told me and I checked mine only to realize that I dropped it when the gnomes attacked. "Let me see" I said and took his phone, messing with it so it would turn on. Champ opened the window to get some fresh air. "It won't work. I think something happened to the cell towers" I explained to the others. "Slappy's taken out the cell-phone towers. That's what I'd do. He's cutting us off. Isolating us" Stine answered. Just then there was thumping on the car roof like someone was walking on top. "What was that?" Champ whimpered. Hand prints were shown and you could hear a boy chuckling, it's weird it sounded like Slappy in a way. "Ugh, it's the Invisible Boy. He's a menace" Stine groaned as he kept driving. There was more thumping and chuckling from Invisible Boy. All of a sudden, Champ was being slapped and pulled out his open window. "Shove him out the window! Roll up the window!" Stine yelled and I tried to hit shove the invisible boy off of Champ, which was very difficult considering that he is well, you know invisible. " He's got his tie!" I yelled helplessly. Stine looked back and stepped on the break. "HOLD ON" he yelled louder. I was thrown back into my seat just as the Invisible Boy's scream was heard. There was a thud and "Not cool" from Inviso Boy back there. Oh well, such a shame. Please notice my extreme amount of sarcasm here my lovely readers. "Are you okay?" Stine asked Champ. "Yeah" he said and looked forward. "Wait! Wait! Look out!" He yelled at Stine, making Stine turn around. A fallen over cell tower. Stine swerved to the left and chrashed against something. "Everyone okay?" He asked and we all nodded our heads. "Yeah" we all said out of breath. "It came out of nowhere" Stine said, a little confused himself. There was some animalistic growling coming ahead of us. A huge praying mantis. We all screamed in terror. "I DON'T REMEMBER WRITING ABOUT A GIANT PRAYING MANTIS" Stine yelled. The praying mantis threw up on the windshield. "Right. Now I remember" Stine said more to himself. "Get us out of here" Zach yelled at Stine. Stine wiped his windows first. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Zach yelled again. "Well I can't drive if I cant see" Stine told Zach. "JUST GO" I yelled at Stine. Could this night get any worse? First an Abominable Snowman, then a talking evil dummy, then gnomes and now a giant praying mantis, what's next? A werewolf? We were chased into town by the giant bug, everyone yelling different directions at Stine. "Does someone else want to drive? Because I will pull over right now" Stine yelled at all of us. Stine pulled into the supermarket but flipped us over at the end. We all rushed into the store quickly. We watched as the car was destroyed. "Why'd you have to come up with so freaky?" Champ asked Stine. "I just have a knack for it, I guess" Stine said simply. The praying mantis dropped the car after tearing it apart. "Oh no. My Wagoneer. I had such low mileage on it" Stine whined. "How far are we away from the high school?" I asked "Not too far. We can cut through the cemetery" Hannah told me. "I'm sorry, a cemetery?" Zach asked Hannah. "Relax. The high school's just past the woods" Hannah explained to my brother. "How do you know about that?" Stine angrily asked his daughter. "Uh sometimes I get a little stir-crazy and go exploring?" Hannah shyly answered her father. "When?" Stine asked. "At night, after you go to bed" she said. "You're grounded" Stine told his daughter. I looked at him like he was crazy, which he is. "That is so unfair" Hannah complained. "It's fair" Stine told his daughter. "You're really going to ground her at a time like this?" I asked Stine. "Guys, you're all bringing up good points, but lets keep moving" Zach said, cutting off the argument between the father and daughter. "Ooh?" I asked him and walked behind him. So lover boy has been sneaking out with Hannah at night. I left Zach and started to wander around the store. It's so creepy I mean I've never seen it so empty before. I heard something rattling coming down the isle I was alone in. I quietly walked down the isle only to find a werewolf. I stopped dead in my tracks and the werewolf started to sniff the air. I turned around and quietly ran away, yelping quietly. I take back what I asked earlier, this day can get worse. I ran to where the others were at, finding them hiding from the werewolf also. Just as I got there, Champ opened his soda bottle, the fizz sound alarming the werewolf that he defiantly wasn't alone. It sniffed the air again, growling as he came closer to all of us. As it looked down the isle we used to be at, it growled confusedly, walking down the isle. We divided up in half, Stine, Zach and I hid in another isle whereas Hannah and Champ ran into the frozen food department. Stine found body spray and started to spray himself just like how a sixth grade boy sprays on axe, too much and in weird places. "What are you doing?" Zach questioned Stine. "That's the werewolf of Fever Swamp. He can smell my scent *sprays more body spray* No, it's not working. I have to hide" Stine said after spraying the whole can on his body, running away to hide. I into another isle as soon as Stine made a noise that alerted the werewolf of where he was. I ran into the front of the store, only to see the Praying Mantis was still around. That's when I heard growling behind me. I turned around and did the most stupidest thing I have ever done. I threw a box of dog treats at a werewolf. It growled and I ran away. No way I'm being eaten by an oversized dog. As I got to where the others went, I felt something scratch the back of my leg. I fell to the ground as soon as the pain erupted through my body. Blood was shown through my jeans. The werewolf stood above me, sniffing and looking me over. I saw where I dropped my iron baseball bat. Ah Ha! That's it. I sat up and scooted my way over to it. The werewolf seems to be in a daze. I grabbed the bat and swung as hard as I could. It whimpered in pain, making my escape plan easy. Zach helped me up and ran with me. We heard with werewolf growling, chasing us again. "Come on! Come on!" Hannah yelled out and Stine shut the door, locking it from the werewolf coming out. "Ha! Let's see him get through that" Stine yelled victoriously. There was thumping coming from the door. "He was human before! He knows how to open doors probably!" I yelled as we ran away. The door flew open, flying off the hinges. It started to bark and snarl at us. "You had to hit it with your bat didn't you?" Zach asked me as he helped me run. "Hey, did you really want me to be eaten and have to explain it to mom?" I asked him and we ran behind another store door but it was locked. We tried to run back but the werewolf trapped us. As it got closer, we stepped back until we almost touched the wall. Out of nowhere my Aunt's car hit the werewolf, sending it to the garbage. It whimpered and I felt somewhat bad for it. "I'm okay" my aunt told us, her airbag coming out. "I'm still okay" she said as she gout the car. "Who is that?" Hannah asked us. "That's our Aunt Lorraine" I told Hannah. "Oh gosh. I think I killed that bear" she said, examining what she did. "It was a werewolf actually" Hannah told my aunt. "What?" my aunt asked confused. "What are you doing here?" Zach asked our aunt. "This is the back of my store. Didn't know where else to go. I can't get ahold of your mother or the cops or anyone" she told my brother, noticing Stine. Oh god. "Hello" she said "Uh,hi. Hello" Stine stammered. "Hi. I don't think we've been properly introduced. Um- I'm I'm Lorraine" my aunt said and i looked at her weirdly."Hello, I'm Stine. We owe you a great debt of gratitude. Your reckless driving saved our lives" Stine told her (more like flirted) them holding hands. "Oh, that old thing? Haha" Aunt Lorraine giggled and i almost gagged. "Lorraine, Lorraine" Zach said, trying to get her attention. "We don't have time.I need you to go to the police. Tell them to meet us at the high school. All right? Can you do that?" my brother asked as we all dragged Stine away from my aunt. "I can do that. Oh, did you want to exchange numbers?" Lorraine asked Stine. "It's not a good time but yes" he yelled after her as we ran to the cemetery.
