~Scarlet's POV~

"Okay. I'll give you guys a 60-second head start" mom told us as she parked the car in the school parking lot. "It's okay mom. Let's all go in together" Zach told her as we were about to get out of the car. Mom locked the door at the last second. I sighed and laughed a little. "So mature" Zach told her and we got out of the car for real. "You love it" mom said. I was squished in the middle of my older brother and my mother. "Baby Scar has been very quiet, maybe we need to get out the tickle monster" mom said and I screeched as I felt both of their hands on my hips. I jerked forward and glared back at them. "Fine, fine, I'll actually socialize for once" I joked and walked back into the middle of them.

I sat down next to Mark in English. He & I have gotten along a lot better than when he tried to make moves on me. He told me a crappy joke to get me into a good mood, surprisingly enough it did. "Good evening. My name is Mr. R.L. Stine and I will be your new English teacher because Mr. Boyd is still recuperating from injuries sustained in a mutant-insect attack.  Now... every story ever told..can be broken down into three distinct parts. The beginning, the middle.... and the twist" Stine told the class. The bell rang a couple of minutes later. "Scarlet Cooper, I would like to talk to you" Stine ordered me. Mark whistled and I gave him a playful shove. "I would like to know how you are doing after what happened with your mate Grady being sucked back into the book and all" Stine said to me as we walked down the hallway. "I've been better, nothing food, books and Netflix can't help with" I said as I fixed the light sweater I was wearing. "Do you miss them?" I asked Stine as we came to the edge of the hallway. "Not a day goes by that I don't think of  them" Stine answered. "But they will always be in here *points at his brain* and in there *points to my heart* and right in there *points to my brain* and in here *points to his heart* and also right over there" Stine told me and I looked at him confused, but followed his finger.  I saw someone that I never thought I would see again. Grady. My Grady. "I may have written one more book or two" Stine told me and I rushed forward to Grady. As soon as he caught me, we did the cliché couple spin and kiss. We broke apart because of Stine coughing over burning the book with all the other monsters in it. "Thank you" I told Stine and went back to hugging Grady. He kept smiling into my eyes and I giggled stupidly. Only this boy has the power to make me fall head over heals in love this hard. "Come on, I want to spend time with you" Grady whispered in my ear, leading me to the exit. "But my grades" I whined jokingly. "Stine said he would excuse you from the rest of your classes" Grady explained, dragging me out the door.

"Wake up" "wake up" "wake up" Grady said, every time hitting me with something (like books or stuffed animals from my childhood). "Go away" I groaned, putting my head in my pillow even more. "But I'm bored" Grady whined. "Well isn't that just sad" I sarcastically coo'ed. *poke* *poke* *poke* "Stop it" I hissed and rolled away from Grady on my bed. "Please?" "No" "Please wake up" "Go away before my mom hears you" I told Grady and pushed him away. "Please? I love you" Grady asked again. "No, I want sleep" I told him. It was suddenly quiet and I opened my eyes only to see Grady hanging upside down from the wall. I went to scream but remembered that my mom would wake up if I did. "Now are you awake?" he asked and I growled, getting out of my bed and going to get a jacket.  Grady grabbed my hand and we snuck out my window. We walked all the way into our hiding spot in the forest. I stopped, Grady turned around and I looked at Grady. "Why did you wake me up at four in the morning?" I whined, each word I slapped his arms. "Ow, hey. Stop" Grady ordered, me hesitantly following them. "I'm bored. You're always at school or doing homework and we can only sneak around because you don't want to tell your mom about us so I always have to wake you up. I'm lonely without you" Grady pouted, putting his arms around my waist and putting his head on my shoulder. "Well why don't you go to high school with me, we can become the cutest couple in school and everything will be perfect" I told Grady sarcastically. "You're cranky. I'll take you back to your room" Grady told me, picking me up bridal style. "Well you wouldn't have to if you didn't take me out into the woods" I grumbled. "Heard that" "You were meant to"

"Can Scarlet Cooper please come to the vice principles room?" A voice said over the intercom. "Looks like someone is in trouble with her mommy" Mark teased me in class. "Shut up" I rolled my eyes, hitting him playfully. I walked down the hall, my shoes clicking on the floor. I knocked on the door before entering my mom's office. "Hey sweetie, I need you to show a new kid around. He has most of your classes except two" she explained. "Yeah sure, no problem" I told her, putting my hands in my back pockets.  She walked me to the new student, a boy from the back of him. "Here you go sweetie, here's your time table" Mrs. Orlando told the boy. "Thanks" the boy said. That voice is familiar. "Oh Grady, this is my daughter Scarlet, she will guide you around. Scar this is Grady. His father is a friend of Stine's and he sent his son to live with them, he's from Florida" my mom explained, making me give my werewolf boyfriend (who she doesn't know about) a handshake. "Ah, Florida huh? Quite a difference from Madison, Delaware" I said, smirking slightly. "Yeah, big difference" Grady also smirked. "Well I better get back to work. Hope you like Madison High" my mother said, giving Grady a pat on the shoulder. 'He's cute' my mother mouthed to me before she left. "Let me show you around" I told Grady. "Okay" Grady chirped, following me. As soon as second period started, I took Grady out to the football field. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked him, irritated to say the least.  "You said to go to school with you" Grady said innocently. "I WAS BEING SARCASTIC" I exclaimed, running my hands in my hair. 'Oh god, my mom's going to think something is up between us and then she's going to find out that he's a werewolf' I thought. "You think it's bad that I'm a werewolf don't you?" Grady asked sadly. "No, not that. It's just I don't know how she's going to react" I told him, taking his hand and drawing shapes. "I know, lets just go to class" Grady insisted, leaving me behind. I felt a pang in my heart and followed him.

*BRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG* The school bell rang, signaling the end of Friday. I sighed, going to pick up my bag when suddenly was snatched from me. "I got it" Grady told me as I looked at him. He had dissed me all day since I was afraid about my mom finding out. "Oh um, thanks" I said sheepishly. "No problem, so I was wondering if you wanted to go to the carnival that they have going on?" Grady asked and I nodded my head. "Yeah that will be fun" I said as I got some stuff out of my locker and putting them in my bag. I had trouble with one of the books that was on the top shelf. "I've got it" Grady told me and I squealed at the choice of contact he decided to make. My face turned bright red as I could barely look at him. Grady leaned down, almost about to kiss me. "Grady" I warned but it was too late. "Hmmmm" I hummed trying to get his attention. Finally I got his attention and pushed him off. "Sorry, wolf took over" Grady explained but I smiled instead of being angry. I grabbed him by his collar and smashed my lips on his. "Your mothers coming" I heard Hannah say as she passed us. That broke us up immediately. "See you tonight" Grady told me as he left with Hannah. I smiled and my mom saw. "What you got a date or something?" she asked and I nodded my head. "New boy?" she asked. "Yep" I said popping the p and heading out with her and my brother.
