WAKE UP! he screams
I love still don't know his name and I'm surely NOT calling him dad. We both roll out of bed and he tells me and Bel- oops I mean Bailey to go upstairs. we drag ourselves upstairs and he gives us both dresses. Mine is an ugly pink dress and Bailey has a pretty red dress. he says that I have the prettiest dress.
yeah, prettiest dress. I say under my breath.
I have to admit all I can do is a bun in my hair and he said to look nice. my type of bun is not nice.
I put on the ugly dress and sigh. I put on my uggs. they're the only shoes I have.
Bailey can you do my hair? I ask
Sure, come here. she says
10 minutes later I have a beautiful waterfall braid in my hair. did I mention he also gave us journals? I decide to write in mine
Dear Journal,
Today is my "birthday" I guess I'm 11. this man gave me a super ugly dress and he gave Bailey a pretty dress. he says mine is the prettiest though. I'm gonna write in this everyday. bye.

i put away the journal and headed upstairs with Bailey.
Layed out on the table is a feast. I haven't eaten in days. Sweet potatoes, cake, rice, chicken, fries. it's amazing. I sit down about to grab for a fry when the man says
hey! no eating yet
I respond. it's not my fault you haven't fed me and Bailey in days.
Bailey pitches in. yeah! feed us already skunkbag.
then she throws a punch at him. he grabs her hand and says "bad mistake" then he slaps her across the face and punches her. I hold back my tears as she falls to the ground. I run to her aid and she says
I'm ok. I'll be up in a few minutes.
I nod and sit down. a few minutes later she's up and sitting with me.

I celebrated my party with my fake family and fake friends. my birthday wish? I want to get out of this place with Bailey. I know I'll be ok. right?
