HOMEI jumped as Zach slammed his fists on the counter.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" He demanded in a low voice.
"Just drop it, will you?" I raked my fingers through my hair.
"You're not thinking right, Brooklyn," he pointed an accusing finger at me.
I threw my hands up in the air. "Why does everyone think they know me better than I know myself?"
"Because we basically do," his voice softened, "you're open like a book."
"Can you please just leave me alone?" I asked.
He put his hands up in surrender. "Fine, but don't expect everyone to be so sincere when he breaks your heart again." He left the room, leaving me alone.
