Today was the day. Marinette has finally come up with the courage to confess.
She had brushed her hair and applied a pink lipstick. She even put on a little perfume.
She checked herself in the mirror. She gave a little smile to her reflection. "We can do this!" She held up her fist determined.
She hopped down the stairs of her room. "Someone got all fancy." Her mother teased.
Marinette blushed. "Y-yeah, I- you see, um-" her mother only laughed at patted her head. "Bring him home to have dinner with the family sometime."
Marinette turned bright red and nodded. She kissed her mother and father goodbye as she ran out of the backery.
Then stopped and ran back inside. "My love letter! How could I have forgotten such an important thing." She asked herself.
Her mother with a smile stood at the door with it. "Ah! Thank you!" Marintte grinned with a blush.
Taking the letter from her mother with a kiss on the cheek. "Good bye!" She laughed running out again.
"I can do it!" Marinette blushed to herself. She made it to school looking around for Adrien.
"Should I do it now? Or maybe later..." She stood there thinking. Ayla came up behind her.
"What are you standing there for?" Marinette jumped at the voice. Marinette turned with big eyes. "Ayla! I don't know when to confess."
Ayla smiled and patted her on the head. "I say after school. In most romance mangas after school is always better. So if they get rejected they don't have to stay in class with them. How awkward would that be, right?"
She shrugged turning to her friend. "Rejected?" Marintte voiced went high pitched. "Ayla! What if I get rejected? What will I do?" She began to tear up.
"Maybe I won't after all." She laughed nervously to herself. Ayla grabbed her shoulders shaking her. "You have to! How long has it been since you liked him? Are you okay with the relationship you have already? Don't you want something more?" Ayla stared hard at her.
"But I'm scared." Marinette looked at the ground not being able to look at Ayla. "I don't know what il do if he turns me down. He's my first love." Marinette blushed with a small smile.
"Then it's your duty to let him know. Don't let your first love pass by without doing anything. You'll regret it." Ayla assured her. Marinette nodded. "You're right. Il confess." She giggled.
"Thank you, I really needed that." Ayla grinned herself. "Being there to help you is my duty." They laughed sitting down at their seats.
Marinette hummed to herself to keep the confession off her mind. If she thought about it too much she's might back down. She shook her head. "No, Il confess today." She whispered to herself.
She giggled to herself. Cloe who had passed beside Marinette's desk stared. "Hm, a wierdo is making noises to herself." She flipped her hair. "No surprise."
Marinette sighed. "You won't bother me today, Cloe. I've already got something on my mind and no amount of your words will top it." Marinette turned away. Cloe eye's moved to Marinette's bag.
"What's this?" She smirked pulling out an envelope with a heart sticker to keep it shut, and Marinette's name written on it in an incredible looking cursive.
Marinette turned and snatched it back. Her face red she could be barely heard. "N-nothing." Cloe laughed. "Oh my! Is our dear Marinette going to confess her undying love? Who is it?" Cloe leaned in extremely interested.
Speaking loudly for the class to hear. Now everyone had their eyes on her. Good thing Adrien hasn't come in yet. The teacher stepped into the classroom.
Sending Cloe back to her seat with a pout. Marinette sighed in relief but could feel eyes on her. Ayla touched her shoulder and nodded. Marinette smiled she was so grateful to have such a great friend.
She wished, she could tell Ayla. About her biggest secret. It would make her life so easy. But Tikki had told her when they first met she must not tell.
Adrien runs to the door way with a tired smile. "Sorry I'm late." He straightens up with a kind smile. The teacher asks him to sit down and class begins like usual.
But it's not the same at all. Marinette is to nervous to focus. He was there in a few hours she was going to confess to him. This could either be the best idea ever or the worst. She can't tell yet.
Class sped by which Marinette was not grateful for. Then the last bell rang. Marinette felt faint. "You know what I'm not feeling well today maybe il go straight home."
She touched her forehead with the back of her hand dramatically leaning from side to side. Ayla crossed her arms. "Really? It's your time to shine! If you don't do it now you'll never be able to." She smiled. "You'll be fine, go!"
She pushed her friend to where Adrien was outside waiting for his ride. Marinette looked back at Ayla with a smile. "Thank you!" She laughed with the letter in her hand.
She nervously walked up to Adrien. He looked over at her and smiled. "Hello Marinette," her heart began to beat fast and then came the stuttering. "H-hello! Hey- um! Well- I- " she couldn't speak.
She shyly bowed with her arms raised out with the letter in her hands. "I-" she took a deep breath. "I love you!" Her face was red, she couldn't look straight. Her heart had a heart attack.
But she finally confessed. She smiled at the thought. Her cheeks pink with excitement. Finally, she had confessed to the boy she liked. Which also have her courage to look at him. She had regained composure and looked up to see his face. Hopefully a smile.
But her good mood disappeared instantly. Adrien looked taken a back. His eyes were wide and he looked troubled. His brows furrowed in a sad manner. Marinette frowned her stomach began to turn. "Marinette."
Her name came out like an apology. "No," Marinette took a step back. "Marinette, I'm sorry." He looked even more hurt than she did.
Marinette pulled back her love letter and held it close to her chest. She stared at the ground then began to laugh. "Yeah, don't worry about it! I should have seen this coming."
Her hand crumpled the letter up. She was trembling now trying to hold back her tears. She wasn't going to cry in front of him. He's a great guy he doesn't deserve some annoying girl crying over him.
"I mean why would you ever like me?" Marinette hated to put herself down but it slipped. Adrien's frown deepened. He took a step closer to her reaching out to her. "Marinette."
She took a step back. She couldn't right now. He's too kind, il just cry all over him. She shook her head. "I'm fine. Thank you for listening to me." She had to pull every muscle on her face to smile.
"I'm sorry." She apologized before turning and quickly leaving not looking at anyone. She should have never confessed.
Marinette fell to the ground when she was alone. "Why? What's wrong with me? Is is because I'm plain Marinette? Why can't I be more like Ladybug?" She began to tear up. "I wish I had her personality." She cried out.
