Chapter 3: That Feeling

When I woke up this morning I had this terrible feeling in my gut that something's gonna go wrong at Starbucks. I didn't know why but something just felt wrong.

I got out of bed and got in to the shower. The hot water against my body was helping me forget the bad feeling. I got out if the shower and want back to the bedroom and saw that Joey was still asleep in the kingsized bed.

Joey is my best friend in the whole wide world. He means the world to me. He has been there for me sense third grade and he knows everything about me. He even knows what's going on in my family, and that is something I don't tell anyone at all.
He has never once judged me for what's happening to me when I'm home.
He wasn't suppose to know what's happening but one day he came home to me after school and found me bleeding really badly on the floor. I didn't feel like I had any other choice then to tell him, so I did and he took me to his place and he held me in his arms for the whole night. He promised to never tell anyone about my secret. That happened 5 years ago and he's still by my side and has kept my secret.

I knew I could trust Joey cause he had his own problems that he didn't want to share. But I knew. Ever sense Joey was 14 he knew he was gay and no one excepted him after he came out, but me. He was bullied in school and I always stood up for him. No one excepted him, not even his parents! It just pisses me of that people can be so cruel against another human being! His parent even tried to get his therapist to convince him that he wasn't gay, for Gods sake!

When Joey turned 17 he got he's own place, a condo on the attic of the coffee shop he's working in. I got some space in the closet for some of my stuff and my own key so I can go there whenever I want or need it. My brother had an emergencykey too.

Last night was one if those nights that I just needed to go somewhere else then home. So my brother drove me to Joey's and I spent the night here telling him about the concert and the coffee.

We were laughing our asses of when Zach came into the bedroom and got annoyed with us cause he really needed to sleep...he ended up sleeping on the couch and Joey and I continued to laugh half the night.

Zach is Joeys boyfriend. they've been together for 2 years now and they are the cutest couple I've ever seen. Zach moved in with Joey on their 1 year anniversary.

"Enjoying the view?" a husky voice interrupted my thoughts.
I hadn't realised that I was staring on him for so long.

"You wish creep." I laughed and hit him with my towel. Joey chuckeld and turned around and fell back asleep.

God! I loved that boy!

I got dressed, my favorite blue tank top and a pair of Zach's old sweatpants, and went out to the kitchen. When I passed the living room I didn't find Zach. I could smell the coffee from the kitchen so I went into the kitchen and found Zach with the newspaper.

''Good morning.'' He said and gave me a smile. Even if we annoyed him last night he still couldn't be mad at us, he loves us to much!

''Morning, darlin'.'' I got myself a cup of coffee and sat on the counter next to where Zach was leaning on it. I put my arm around his waist and gave him a hug. He put his right arm around my shoulders and hugged me back.

''Is Joey still asleep?''

''Yea.'' I answered and put my head on his shoulder.

''Are you going to meet Max at Starbucks?'' He tickled my side and wiggled his eyebrows playfully at me.
I hit his side with my elbow and jumped of the counter.

''Not in this clothes I'm not.'' I shouted as I ran to our room.

When I burst through the door I heard Joey in the shower. I looked trough my cloths and found my black short shorts and put them on.
I hope I looked good enough. I had my favorite tank top that was the same I used last night and my shorts. My hair was let loose and was falling straight down my shoulders.

I ran to the big mirror on the wall and did my makeup. I put on some light brown eyeshadow and some mascara. I kept it easy. I didn't like to wear to much makeup, it didn't make me any prettier so I didn't see the point of it.

I ran to the living room to get my purse and my phone and my money.

When I turned around I saw Joey and Zach hugging each other and watching me. Joey had he head resting on Zachs strong chest and his arms around Zachs waist. Zach had his arms protectively around Joeys body and his head resting on top of Joeys. They looked so perfect.

I smiled and walked over to them.

''I'm out.'' I said and embraced them in a big hug. They hugged me back and gave me a kiss on my head each.

''If he does anything call us and we'll save you.'' Zach said seriously. He's always been super protective, I was like a little sister to him and he was like my second brother.

''He won't.'' I laughed at his promise. I walked over to the door and grabbed the handle and turned around and said:

''Love you guys!''

I got out of the condo and before the door closed I heard them call:

''Love you too little sister!''

I jumped the stairs 2 at the time and got to the back door faster the expected. I started walking down the street to Starbucks, it was only a couple of blocks away from our place.

20 minutes later I reached Starbucks and when I looked trough the window I saw him.

He was sitting in a booth next to the window. He didn't see me though so I walked to the door and took a deep breath. I grabbed the handle and opened the door. I heard the doorbell ring as I opened the door and my eyes was meet by those magical brown once.

A smile spread on his face and he got up and walked over to me. His eyes never leaving mine. When he reached me he put his hand out for me to shake it.

''Hey! I'm Max. I'm so happy you showed up.'' His smile reached his eyes.
