She walked around the kitchen making herself a sandwich. Occasionally her eyes would graze Ashton. He was sat in the living room next to her brother playing Fifa. "It's your turn to get some beer." She heard Tyler say. Shortly afterwards an annoyed sighed was heard from Ashton. She wasted no time knowing the older boy would soon be in the kitchen where she was currently standing. She hurried to the freezer, which was right under the fridge and bend over so that her ass was right in the air.

She roamed the freezer, taking her time. Ashton eventually coughed signaling for her to hurry up but she didn't care.

She grabbed a strawberry popsicle. This was already a bad idea. She began unwrapping it but as soon as she pushed it in her mouth, she remembered. Ugh the sensation of the cold ice against her teeth. She shivered when the brain freeze hit her. She continued sucking on it purposely trying to make it look dirty.

"Easy Lia wouldn't want you to choke." He laughed amused at his own words.

"Oh I'll be fine Ashton." Her eyes flicked from his eyes to his manhood. He noticed and felt a little uncomfortable. Was she flirting with him? He wasn't sure how he felt about it. She was hot, what was he saying it was his best friend's little sister for heaven's sake. Get your mind out of the gutter that was what he had been telling himself lately.
It was hard for the older boy being at their house all the time. He felt attracted to the girl and would love to 'teach her a lesson' for flirting with him like that. While he was at it, he might as well 'punish' her for the inappropriate outfits she always seemed to wear.

It drove him nuts how Tyler wouldn't comment on it. Tyler never said anything about Lia's clothing. He probably didn't even know what she was doing up in her room, she could smoke pot and Tyler wouldn't notice. It wasn't like he didn't care about her he was just being oblivious to the fact that she was growing up. Ashton had noticed though.

He noticed how her lips pouted making them look oh so kissable. How her clothes (the appropriate ones) would hug her body perfectly although he wouldn't mind seeing them scattered on the floor as well. The way her hips swung in a more feminine way when she walked. How her voice would be pleasant whenever she addressed him, making him weak at the thought of her moaning it.
But most of all he loved it when he passed by her room seeing her lay on the bed. Most of the time her headphones would be plugged in and she would hum along to the songs. He so badly wanted to know what she listened to and what put that smile on her delicate face.

Her phone rang and she quickly answered it. There was a brief moment of her saying her name and saying hello then it went silent.

"I'm sure you would love to do that but you can't my brother is home tonight." She turned her back to Ashton and lowered her voice.

He had opened the fridge in search for some beers. Ashton couldn't help but listen along to the conversation going on behind him. Who was she even talking to?

"Tomorrow sounds perfect and we will have the house to ourselves my mom's going out with some colleagues." She bit her lip softly.

House to themselves well now he certainly knew it wasn't Zoe on the other end. It was probably some boy that wanted to get with her. Ashton got furious by the thought of some guy taking advantage of her. It made his blood boil because she deserved so much more.

She giggled lightly before hanging up.

"Would you hand me a diet coke?" She asked while slipping her phone into her pocket. Should he ask about the caller? No that was too weird even for him.

"Sure you don't want a normal one?" He was just about to grab the red can but then caught her shaking her head.
What was she on about? She never drank diet cokes Ashton had noticed. She had even told him how much she hated the taste and how it disgusted her. She would much rather drink the real deal than some shitty 'healthier' option. His mind jumped to conclusion about how she probably wanted to 'slim' down for the new boy. Why would she do that? How could she even think so low of herself? She was perfect.

Instead of grabbing the diet one, he shut the fridge. The girl was one big question mark.

"Is your mother working late again?" He asked out of nowhere. Why would he do that? She had just asked for a coke and now he wanted to bug in on her mom. Why did he even care he damn well knew that she always worked late. It was typical of Ashton to always worry about unimportant stuff, like how late her mom got home or how she didn't speak to her dad anymore.

That had been the worst day of her life. Ashton walking through the door and spending hours sitting on the couch talking to Tyler. That was fine and he could do that because they were best friends but that he had the nerve to interrupt her and bombard her with a million questions, no way. She clearly remembered how she laid in her bed listening to music and how he had walked in and asked her "Are you okay? He's a real piece of shit."

No he wasn't. Her father wasn't a piece of shit. He cheated on her mother with his secretary but he wasn't a real piece of shit. He was her dad. No one was allowed to talk badly about him because she didn't. Maybe that was the reason why. She had never once said anything poorly about him. Remember how people always tell you that words speaks louder than actions well not in this scenario. She didn't want anything to do with him and he had gotten the memo the day he left. When he leaned down to kiss her cheek goodbye she turned away from him.
It all came crashing down when Ashton started rubbing her back wanting to pull her in for a hug. She didn't want a hug she just wanted to listen to her music. She had pushed him away from her and yelled at him to get the fuck out of her room. That was three years ago but it still shined brighter than anything else in her memory.

That was also the reason why Ashton never interrupted the peaceful girl in her bed. He knew from that incident that when her headphones were in her ears she wanted to tune out the world. He strangely admired it. The way she dealt with her problems, sure it wasn't very adult-like but she handled it. He had never seen her cry and according to Tyler, she usually never did.

"You know just forget about it." She groaned out of annoyance leaving the room. He didn't know if she meant the coke or his question. It wasn't healthy never letting your feelings out. Tyler never talked to his sister about her mental health and whenever Ashton had passed her and Zoe, they always either laughed or gossiped. Maybe that new guy was helping her. Ashton didn't want him to. Ashton wanted to help Lia and he wanted to be the shoulder she cried on whenever things got rough. He never knew how to ask about it. Of course, it wasn't his job to talk to her about these things, he wasn't her brother and he wasn't her boyfriend. Were they friends? Ashton didn't really know. They were more like acquaintances although he had been coming here for almost five years. It bugged him how he never got the chance to sit down and talk to her, really get to know her. She was a mystery and he desperately wanted to uncover her.
