The adrenaline of slamming open her door was amazing. He saw the two of them on the bed. He immediately saw Calum's hand, which was placed on top of hers. Without even thinking he pulled him up by the collar of his t-shirt. He didn't know where all of this sudden anger came from. Perhaps it had manifested over time. He just knew that in that exact moment he would love nothing more than to bash Calum's face in.
He had yanked him off the bed and smashed him against the wall. The dark-haired boy winched at the contact of his back on the flat surface.
"Ashton what are you doing?" Lia shouted and tried pulling them apart. She had never seen him like that before, never seen him loose himself like that. Ashton shook her off and in the process of doing so she went down with a bang.
Her head smashed against the metal bed frame. To say she was knocked out was an understatement.Ashton didn't even notice because he was too focused on teaching Calum a lesson. How dared he be with her like that? He pulled him close to his face staring him dead in the eyes.
"Don't even think about it Hood." Calum's eyes were shut closed. He wasn't trying to hide the fact that he was scared shitless of the man in front of him because that was what he was, a man. Calum didn't stand a chance against him. One hit by Ashton and he would have lost half of his vision maybe even all of it.
Ashton could feel the boy's body shake. He felt superior. The fear was practically radiating off of his body. This feeling of victory soon left his body when he saw the tears streaming down his face. Calum wasn't crying because of fear, Calum wasn't even looking at Ashton. He stared at something behind him, something on the floor. Ashton's heart dropped when he saw the girl laying completely unconscious.
He dropped Calum on the ground and rushed over to her. He lifted her head to lay in his lap. Ashton's eyes were filling with water.
"What happened?" Tyler shouted. He stared between the two boys before his eyes locked on the girl on the floor. He gasped. He fished up his phone dialing 911.
"There's been an accident please hurry up." Tyler's voice was shaky and he tripped over the letters trying to spell out the name of the address.
"What happened. Answer me!" Tyler shouted trying to shake Lia awake.
"It was- it was Calum. He shoved her." Ashton said. Pinning the blame on Calum was a new low, even for Ashton. He felt his eyes stare in his direction as Tyler cussed him out. He even tried to tell the truth and explain what really went down. Eventually he gave up because who was Tyler going to believe? Calum and him had known each other for less than a year but Ashton was his best friend. And best friends don't lie to each other.

"Luckily it's a minor concision, nothing dramatic she just needs to remain still." The nurse explained to Tyler while he nodded. He switched between looking at the woman in front of him to the girl on the bed.
"She might experience memory loss, nothing to crazy just blank spaces from this particular day. There hasn't been any permanent damage." Tyler could feel the weight of the world on his shoulder. He looked to Ashton who was sitting beside her, holding her hand. His eyes was locked on her face as he studied her breathing.
Tyler felt disgusted. Why had he invited Calum into his house? He was clearly a psychopath. He couldn't even look him in the eyes when he told him to leave the property and never return.
Small twitches came from the girl's body as she woke up. She opened her eyes only to be greeted by the sharp hospital lights. She wanted to talk and ask what she was currently doing at this place but she couldn't. It felt like her vocal cords had been ripped apart. She tried to reach the water but was too weak. Ashton quickly grabbed the glass and places it by her lips.
"Kiddo." Tyler said with the smallest voice ever. She had never heard him sound like that before. Tyler recalled the sight that was in front of him only two small hours ago. He truly thought she was dead. She laid completely still, eyes shut. He didn't see any movement so he assumed the worst. Trying to call an ambulance was hell. He had thought about all the stories where they didn't show up in time.
Ashton felt the guilt kick in, even more so than at the house. In the moment it seemed like the only solution, the right thing to do. Boy was he wrong. He had lost control. It was entirely his fault that Lia was in this position. He couldn't help himself.
When he heard the music and saw them together his mind went blank. How was it that she never cared to share with him? She never gave anything not even a piece of herself to him. He had tried for so many years. Every time he walked by her room she would even turn of the vinyl player. She waited for him to pass along. Sometimes he even stood there looking at her, waiting for her to just give in. He waited for her to play him her songs. Her ever so beloved songs.
She never would. One time she even closed the door right in his face. She gave him harsh looks when he looked at her for a little too long. He felt her strong hatred towards him. She strongly disliked him. It was almost like she hated him with a deep passion. Ashton never understood why.
"You are never seeing that Calum boy ever again." Tyler's voice was stern. She saw his red eyes and the stains on his cheeks, he had cried.
"What did he do? I like Calum." Her voice was small. Ashton felt the stake piecing through his heart. Just like that his soul was gone. She liked Calum? She liked the boy she knew nothing about? For all they knew he was a killer. A serial murder ready to strike again. Ashton knew it was silly. He tried rationalizing his actions, telling himself that what he did was eventually going to be the right thing for everybody.
