Sadie's hands were trembling by the time she finished reading the text.
She couldn't focus anymore.
She left her term paper right where it was, turned off the lights and went to sleep.
Or tried to.
She just laid there staring at nothing for hours.
Thinking about everything.
All that was. All that is to come.
It made her shiver.
'When did my life turn into this?' She thought.
In her mind, she was playing through her life so far. Her messed up childhood, the years she had hope, the rebellious years, the years no one else listened, and the years the only way people saw her was horrific. All based off of simple choices. 'It's not fair.' She thought. 'Life's not fair.' She knew everyone else thought that too, but couldn't imagine anyone else having dealing with the same things as her. She was strong. 'It was everyone else's fault. I started to slip but I couldn't face the reality. I couldn't tell anyone, couldn't show what was happening to me. And when it finally became clear to the world what I had become, no one listened, no one cared. They just judged. They didn't try to help. They thought it was a done deal. There was no way for me to come back. But there was. They were just to stupid to understand.'
Sadie's eyes started to close.
'Them with their little perfect lives.'
And with that, Sadie fell asleep.
