The Wolves of the Forest

Chapter 3

Waking up I strained my ears to see if my father was home. Not hearing anything I got up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. I desperately needed to get all this dirt of. After scrubbing my body till it was red I got out of the shower pulling a towel around my body. Heading to my closet I looked around not finding anything that appealed to me. Walking out my closet I headed towards my dads room. When I entered I went straight to his closet. My mom's side still had all her stuff where she left it. Slowly walking towards it I looked at all her stuff. Turning to my left I saw the most beautiful white dress, it was plain and simple. It had a little brown leather belt on its waist. Finally deciding I carefully slipped it on. Turning around I stared at the mirror in front of me. I looked like a goddess, it was breathtaking. Heading back to my room I went into my bathroom grabbing my makeup bag I set it down on my desk. Once I grabbed my mirror I sat down getting to work on my makeup. I put some simple eyeshadow, then put some mascara on, finally applying a thin line of eyeliner. Standing up I went to my wall with a full length mirror on it. Standing in front of it I looked at myself. I looked so much like my mom, I have her bright green eyes. That was my favorite thing about myself, my eyes. Instead of messing with my hair I just put it up in a simple bun. Looking at the time I was that it was a quarter past 2. Looking at myself one last time, I headed downstairs and into the kitchen to grab my keys and wallet. Heading out into the garage I hopped into my car turning it on. Not knowing where I was going I just kept driving, my instincts incontrol. Once I realized my car was at a stop I looked around taking my keys out. Where am I? I thought. I distinctly heard the sound of water clashing together. Walking towards the sound I came to a clearing with flowers everywhere, a waterfall in the background. It looks like a small pond with a waterfall and flowers and trees. It was truly a beauty. Sitting down in a patch of grass under a tree I stared out at the water enjoying the sound of the water clashing together. I didn't realize I zoned out until I heard a growl. Snapping my eyes open I looked around trying to find the sound. Not finding I thought maybe it was just my mind. Hearing it again but closer this time I got up and turned around. Sure enough, there was a huge brown wolf in front of me, maybe about five feet. It got down growling, a hungry look in its eyes. Fear laces through me, and before I could let out a scream it looked at me. Tumbling backwards it fell on top of me, including me. It growled down at me snapping its teeth at me. Just when I thought I was going to die I heard another vicious snarl from behind the wolf. The wolf turned surprised, it yelped when the other wolf leaped at it pushing it of of me. The wolf was beautiful, all black with the most prettiest eyes I've ever seen, dark ocean blue. The two wolves kept going at it, snarling, sneering, growling, you name it. I backed up against the tree shaking like a leaf. What's going to happen to me? I thought. Not noticing that my hand landed down on a twig, it snapped. Both wolves turned towards me, I immediately stopped moving and closed my eyes waiting to be killed. When no pain came I opened my eyes to see they were still looking at me. When the brown wolf let out a growl the black wolf seemed to snap out of it and the two went back to attacking each other. After what felt like days was only about 10 minutes before the black wolf finally pinned the other down, killing its prey. When the black wolf turned back to me I whimpered, silent tears falling freely. I heard movement bad was to scared to open my eyes. Suddenly I felt fur rub against my side, sending me into another wave of whimpers. The wolf whined nudging me with its head. Slowly lifting my head I met the wolves eyes, it was like magic. Its eyes held mine as it came closer lowering its body to show it wouldn't harm me. It pushed its head under my hand forcing my to pet it. Slowly I started to pet its head, still scared it will bite me. When I finally realized it wasn't going to hurt me I started to pet it more. Putting my hand behind its ear I scratched. Feeling the wolf purr under my touch made my quicken my fingers, weaving them through its thick fur. We stayed like this for hours, it was starting to get dark out when I decided to head back home. When I started to stand the wolf lifted its head and made a soft growl in the back of its throat. Sighing, I sat back down sliding my neck down the tree so I was lying in the grass. I shiver racked my body so I wrapped my arms around myself shivering. I heard the wolf whimper before practically lying on top of me, its head in my neck. The wolf was so big that it almost covered my whole body. Feeling warm suddenly I snuggled deeper into the wolves coat. I woke up to a cold wet snout touching my skin. Opening my eyes I looked down to see the same wolf there, when I looked at its eyes I realized it was already looking at me. For some odd reason, I wasn't afraid of the wolf. I felt very calm. Reaching out I slowly put my hand on its head petting it. "I've never seen a wolf before, you are so beautiful." I whispered, my voice hoarse from just waking. The wolf purred rubbing its head all over my body. Giggling I sat up looking out ahead at the waterfall. Hearing the wolf sit up my eyes shifted over to it. "Are you a wild or a shifter?" I asked, to be honest I'm a little scared for its reply. The wolf smiled shaking its head at me. "What," I faked whined, "I wanna know!" I giggled at how funny I sounded. The wolf did a wolfish grin, "Okay, shake your head to my question. Okay?" The wolf nodded it's head waiting for me to continue, "Okay so, are you a wild wolf?" The wolf had a flicker of panic before shaking its head. I stared at the wolf in shock. Oh boy, I haven't met anyone else like me except for my dad. "Me too," I whispered, my voice cracking. The wolf looked at me in shock before sniffing the air around me. After it looked satisfied it put its head in my lap staring up at me. I feel like I could read what it was saying through its eyes. "You want to see my wolf?" I questioned out loud. The wolf just closed its eyes licking my shoulder. Slowly pulling away I got up. "I've only shifted once in my life so it might take me a little bit," I said walking behind a thick tree I took the dress off so I wouldn't ruin it, shifting took probably about 10 minutes before I felt myself shrink into my wolf. Slowly walking behind the trees I tried to walk. Being I haven't tried to walk before I fell when I got near the other wolf. The wolf trotted over to me picking me up with its head. This time I slowly stood up and sniffed the air taking in on the new smells. When I slowly started to walk toward the other wolf I got this strong masculine smell, well at least I know its a male, I thought. Looking up into its eyes I got a sudden pull towards the wolf. Mate. Mate. Mate, it's our mate! He's so handsome! My wolf shouted at me. I looked at the wolf in shock. It's the one. The one I'm supposed to spend my life loving and protecting. Instincts took over, before I knew what I was doing I was rubbing my body all over the male. Rubbing my scent all over his body letting him know he was ours. I purred when I felt him do the same. After a while we both laid down in the cool air side by side. I have a mate.
