The Wolves of the Forest

Chapter 1

I guess I should introduce myself, I am Leda. I'm 16, I do home schooling, I live with my father, I have probably the brightest green eyes anyone has ever seen. That is why people always get drawn towards me. I have a pretty normal life for a teenager in highschool, I have 3 close friends, Megan, Sammy, and Charletto. We have known each other since 4th grade, I used to go to a public school until I started getting bullied and left the school. Like I said, my life is pretty normal.

It's my day. It's my Birthday! Im finally 16, I can't wait to spend the day with the best people in the world. "Knock knock Leda it's time to wake up sunshine it's your birthday!" My father knocked coming in with a plate in hand. "Morning dad, what's that?" I asked pointing my finger at the plate. "Well I made you a birthday breakfast, eat up your friends will be here soon," my father said putting a steamy plate of pancakes on my lap. Once he left I started to devour all the pancakes, what can I say.. I was hungry. Quickly finishing I put the now licked clean empty plate on my dresser while walking out of my room to get to my bathroom.

After taking a quick shower I ran back to my room and into my closet to looks for something to wear. After pulling out something simple I ran back into my bathroom quickly throwing it on then brushing my hair and teeth. I was pulling my vans on when I heard a car horn outside my window. Peering outside I saw my friends in Sammy's car, quickly running down stairs so I wouldn't fall on my face I went into the kitchen to grab my wallet. Running towards the car I hopped in. Time for some shopping.

*Couple hours later*

"I'm so hungry, we've been shopping forever guys!" Megan whined throwing her hand up to show how dramatic she was being. "Well than let's go grab something to eat at the food court," Charlotte suggested. We all practically ran across the mall to the food court. After finding a spot Sammy plopped down saying she would save the spot as long as I got her some fries. Once we all sat back down with are food nobody was talking, only because we were enjoying our food. "Okay we need to go get you home," Sammy said throwing away are food. "Okay, let's go" I replied walking out the mall and into the car. Once we got home I ran up to my room grabbing my robe and heading to the bathroom to take a shower. Once I was out I went to my closet picking out my outfit for today. Which concluded a white v-neck and black jeans, along with my vans. Running back into my foggy bathroom I wiped the mirror and got to work on my hair braiding it to one side of my face. Perfect, I thought putting on mascara. Pulling out my phone I sat down on my bed texting Charletto asking when she'd be here. "I'll be there soon to pick you up" she texted me. Knowing her, a little bit ment an hour or so. Laying down I drifted into darkness. I woke up hearing a knock on my door. "Come on it's time to go!" I heard Charletto yell from the other side.Picking myself up I walked out heading to her car, her trailing behind me silently. Once we got to the restaurant we got out heading inside to meet up with Megan and Sammy. "Finally you guys are here, we ordered you guys water." Megan said pushing the drinks toward us once we sat down. "Yeah sorry about that, I was taking to long to find my purse," Charletto replied. "Well let's get this dinner on with," Sammy said sipping her coke. "Alright alright," Charletto said picking up her menu. While we were eating I felt a strange need to leave the room. Looking around I noticed neither of the girls saw me get up until I dropped my fork trying to get out of the booth. "Hey where are you going?" Megan questioned. "Uhm, I'm going to the restroom/" I replied quickly walking outside the restaurant. We live in a city that is covered with a forest, so I decided to take a walk into the woods to calm my nerves. Feeling a sudden wave of exhaustion I sat down leaning my back against a tree. I woke to a searing hot pain ripping through my body, gasping for air I shoot up. For some reason over all the pain I felt myself being pulled to an open field next to the tree. What is happening to me? I thought as I fall to the ground screaming out into the foggy night air. I'm going to die! Was my last thought as I blacked out from all the pain. "Hello my child," I heard someone say behind me. Quickly turning around surprised, I see a beautiful woman standing in front of me. "Am I dead?" I questioned.. I didn't feel any pain anymore. "No child you have shifted, I will explain everything to you when the time is right. Though I can tell you a few things," She said smiling warmly at me, it felt like being hugged in warm arms. Instead of replying I got comfortable on the ground before looking back up at her. "I am the Moon Goddess, you are a wolf. It may be strange to you being you aren't used to it yet. I am the mother of all wolves, I watch over all my wolves. I can't give you too much information you'll have to figure that out yourself. What I can tell you is that you have someone special out there for you, find them they will help you." She said quickly, before I could even reply she grabbed me by the arms pulling me to her, "You must go now, I will be watching over you my child." She smiled waving a hand in front of my eyes.
