"(Reader)!"

Hearing your name being shouted across the quad of your high school, "Ah~, you don't have to be so loud bakaaa." Scolding your friend, but you knew she wasn't going to pay attention to your nagging.

"Oi, oi (reader), do you want to go shopping with me after school today?"

Sitting down on one of the benches in the courtyard, "We can't remember? We have practice today."

"We do!?" She exclaimed, almost knocking your lunch out of your grasp. You narrowed your eyes, "Oi, you almost knocked over my lunch."

The ravenette playfully rolled her eyes," I would've bought you another one, don't stress (reader)~" You grinned and flicked her forehead, "Anyway, did you forget to bring your practice clothes today?"

She nodded, "Well, I'll tell coach you'll be a little late so you can go back home and get your stuff, alright?"

Fake tears came pouring down, "Thank you! You're a goddess!"

"Bakaa! Stop fake crying like an anime character!"

**Time skip**

"Take it two!" One of your teammates who played at third base shouted as the ball was hit to left outfield.

Your eyes narrowed as the ball was hit farther than your teammate anticipated, "Take it three! Three!" You shouted from your base as your other teammates got to their position. Seeing that (best friend) managed to get the ball by the fence and fired it to you, third base.

Just in time, you caught the ball and tagged the player before she could touch the base. "Whooo! (best friend's name), great throw!" You praised with a big smile, and got a cheeky grin in response.

Getting ready for the next hit, you narrowed your eyes in concentration. Scanning the batters stance and glancing at the catcher's signal. Inside pitch, it'll probably be in between me and shortstop.

The sound of the ball coming in contact with the bat snapped you out of your thoughts. Seeing that you wouldn't be able to stop it since it was out of your reach, you dove and managed to catch it in mid-air.

Not paying attention to the dirt on your body, you quickly threw it to first base and that was 3 outs. "Ahhh! Nice (reader)! Good dive!"

You smiled and turned back at your friend, giving her a wink.

*whistle*

"Bring it it ladies!" Your coach motioned.

Now that your team was in huddle, the coach discussed upcoming practices and games. Not paying close attention to the crowd that always forms to watch your team practice, a new group of onlookers observed while walking by the softball field.

"Whoa! Did you see the outfielders throw?" A libero exclaimed in excitement.
A few members of the group nodded in agreement,"Right! It was like a sling shot! Don't you agree Suga-senpai!" The orange head shouted in astonishment.

"That was impressive," 'Suga' stated with a smile, then turned towards a fellow third-year," what do you think Asahi?"

'Asahi' nodded, "I like how the third baseman dove and managed to get two outs..."

"Mmm, I agree with you Asahi. She seems pretty aggressive when she plays." One of the others pointed out with a smile of admiration.

"Like me! The great Noya!"

"Ehh, as I recall, you missed so many balls today at practice, oh great Noya~" A megane teased, hoping to get a reaction out of his teammate.

*Back to (reader)*

"That was a good practice." You said while putting your hair up into a messy bun. (Best friend) nodded in agreement, "Yeah. I'm just glad that it's the weekend now." You reached over and ruffled her hair, which made her whine that she just braided her hair.

Not paying attention to anything, (best friend) started laughing, "Pftt! (Reader), look at that group!" (best friend) pointed out as she snorted at the commotion.

Turning your head to the group, it seemed like younger boy was trying to fight a megane giant who had a smirk on his face. Though, the younger boy was in the grasp of an older looking boy who wore a bun.

Cute. You smiled as he tried to stop the boy from getting to the blond.

"(Reader)! Let's go buy some ramen on the way home, your treat."

You abruptly turned your attention towards your best friend who was mindlessly fixing her hair, "EH! Yeah right!" You exclaimed; not noticing the brown haired boy with the bun was admiring you from afar.

Cute. I hope our paths cross.. third baseman.
