Another week had past, when I started getting to grips with what I was going to need for college. Most things were ready, but the only thing that wasn't, was me. A week tomorrow and I was going to be one of the youngest once again... I brushed my teeth and took a shower in the pace of half an hour. Like usual, I wore a pair of skinny jeans turned up at the bottom, a vest, the usual vans and my hair flopped over my eyes. As I made my way to the shop, I bumped into the most known face.

"Hey Drew," she grinned as I approached her.

"Ria..." I nodded my head and gestured a miniature wave, which made me look slightly awkward in front of her friends.

"Someone's woke up on the right side of the bed," she commented.

"Absolutely..." I paused, stopping in my tracks.

"You know, you really need to stop wearing that superman vest," she pointed out.

"What's wrong with it?" I asked.

"You got some of last night's dinner down it..."

"Where?" I questioned, scanning my eyes over it. Hearing giggles from behind her annoyed me slightly.

"Just teasing ya!" She chuckled. "Why don't you hang with us today?"

"Me hang with you? Not gonna happen..." She raised her eyebrow.

"Why not?"

"Because I got stuff to do, people to see..."

"Wait... So I'm not important now?" She batted her eyelashes.

"You should know that puppy dog eyes don't work on me... Especially after you said I'm a crazy guy with something wrong with my head..." I went on. Her friends crowded around like some sort of crew. "Anyway... I'm outta here..."

"You ain't going nowhere sister!" She held back. I watched her skeptically. "Where are you going?" She observed me.

"Shop."

"Why?"

"Because..."

"Because what?"

"Because talking to you makes me look pathetic... I got a reputation to maintain, so are you gonna stand there all day or do I need to move you myself?" I pushed past. Making myself look hard in front of Ria was the stupidest idea, but who cares... A few seconds later, a girl ran over to me and of course it was my best friend, Hazel.

"Well, hey there Hazelnut..." She stopped, grinned and leapt at me, wrapping her legs around my waist tightly squeezing my neck. I spun her a few times when she kicked her legs for me to put her back on her feet. She observed me and spoke,

"Looking pretty impressive Drew..." She squeezed the recently toned muscles. "Wow. You've lost weight too! You're pretty cool..."

"Always am..." She rolled her eyes. In the distance, I noticed Ria scowling at me, when I refused to take it, by ignoring her.

"Absolutely..." She responded. "Why don't we catch-up later? Like go bowling or something?"

"Okay Hazelnut..." I grinned. You're probably wondering why I call my best friend Hazelnut? That's because it's just what I call her, just how she calls me... 'Douche.'

"See ya later, douche..." Okay 'douche' is a french shower- but I guess it's just a bit of friendly banter...

It was 7pm when myself and Hazel turned up at the bowling alley...

"I'm totally going to bring you down tonight!" She excitably said.

"Is that so?"

"Absolutely douche bag!" She pushed past in which she collected the shoes off the counter and headed towards the alley that was instructed. I followed behind her.
