Yui sat crisscross on her bed, looking at something she had hid under the blankets. Miku hopped up on the bed, walked over and decided to sit on it. "Meew" Miku said. Yui looked at Miku, and frowned at her action. "Miku, stop being like that..." She said while she pulled the book out from beneath Miku. Yui stared at the book, with uncertainty in her eyes.
(*flaskback time*)
It had been a few days since she came home with it, and when she did, she went and showed her grandpa the book. "Oh! I haven't seen that book since you were just a little girl! Where did you find it?" He said. Yui looked at grandpa surprised. "You've seen this book before?" She asked. Grandpa looked at her for a moment with a unidentifiable expression on his face, but quickly changed it to a happy one. "When I'd come over to visit you and your mom and dad, I would always see you wandering outside holding that book wherever you went." Yui looked down at the book, and tried hard to remember the times that grandpa talked about. Miku rubbed against Yui's legs, still soaked from earlier."Yeah.... Yeah that's right... I did carry it around when I was little..." Yui lied to grandpa, so that she would not worry him for not remembering.
(*End of flaskback*)
Yui sighed and dropped the book next to Miku. 'What does this mean?' She thought. 'It couldn't be just a coincidence that I somehow found a book that was from my childhood... Could it?' She looked over at Miku. "Miku... Tell me what this means." Yui laid on her stomach and faced Miku and the book. Miku looked at the book for a second, and then walked over to Yui and rubbed her head against Yui's. "Hmmmmm.." Yui thought. She dragged the book closer, and flipped to the first page:"She awoke in a strange place where she had never been before. She tried to sit up but couldn't; for she wasn't on the ground... She was in the water."
Yui stopped. 'This is just like what happened to me.' She thought. She flipped to the next page:
"She took the book with her. Each day she would return to the strange place that she found the book."
Yui flipped to the next page, and found that the pages were completely ruined. She sighed, and closed the book. She lied down on her bed, and looked at her tan colored ceiling. Slowly, her eyelids started to drop over her eyes, soon bringing her into her world of dreams.
She felt warm, wetness all around her, enveloping her body. Her hair felt like it was floating all around her, and like her body wasn't on anything. She could feel Miku stretched out across her stomach, purring softly. Yui slightly opened her eyes, and saw the bright, cloudy sky, and the tips of trees that surrounded it. She jumped up, and found herself in the pond once again. Yui looked down to find Miku clinging onto her shirt for dear life. "Meeeew." Miku cried, digging her head into Yui's shirt. "Oh Miku! I'm sorry! Here..." Yui pulled Miku off of her shirt, and held her tight to her chest. Yui started to walk towards land, holding Miku tightly, and not noticing the book she carried with her. When she reached land, she set down Miku, and soon saw the book. 'Why is this here?' She thought. 'Then again... Why am I here?' The book started to give a bright, blueish glow, and shake softly. Yui held it in her hands, and stared at it confused and scared. Then... A bright glow started to come from the lake. Yui stood wide eyed, holding the glowing book, and looking at the glowing lake. "Wh- what the hell is happening???" She said aloud, walking back towards Miku. Yui picked her up, and continued to walk backwards. Yui tripped on a rock, and fell against a big tree. Her vision became blurry, as she sat there, holding Miku and the glowing book, staring at the glowing lake. Soon, the lake started to show a strange formation. Yui squinted hard to try and see what exactly it was, but it still was blurry. The lake created a reflection, that looked like the old castle on the book cover. Yui rubbed her eyes multiple times to shake off the blurriness, but it didn't work. She watched the lake move, and form the strange castle, soon creating a big door a few feet in front of her. The door opened, and a young man came through. Yui's head started to hurt, and her eyes started to close. "Don't worry, you'll be fine... Yui." said the man starting to smile. He leaned close to her as her eyes shut, and as her body fell into his arms.
