A/N: The album comes out this month... so that's exciting. It's also April now, what a coincidence heh I'll take this opportunity to say ITS GERARD WAY'S BIRTHDAY YAY I LOVE HIM okay proceed don't mind me.
Spring break ended too soon, and it was like the year had been put on fast forward. Devin and Nick were at practice every day after school, getting ready for games coming up fast. Lacrosse was just as busy, and the inseparable friends found themselves with less and less time to hang out and relax between everyone's sports and other miscellaneous extracurricular activities.
The lucky thing about the clashing seasons was that lacrosse games were always on Tuesdays and Fridays after baseball practice had ended, and baseball games were always on Saturdays when everyone could make it. Since Ashland High had one of the nicer fields for lacrosse a lot of their games were held there, and after practice the baseball guys usually came over to watch. Likewise, even with homework through the roof leading up to finals, Christie, Bella, and Anna made it to every baseball game to cheer on their friends. Bella, of course, had a bit of incentive more than Anna and Christie, because Ian played baseball. She said she came for her friends, but to tell the truth, she mostly wanted to see Ian in that baseball uniform.
It was a perk, that's for sure.
The first game after spring break was baseball, the week after school had gotten back in. The boys were excited, since their season was going so well and the team they were playing was almost a guaranteed win. Anna, Bella, and Christie were all in the stands, dressed in the school's colors, navy blue and white, from head to toe. They even had pom-poms, saved from their first Freshman year spirit rally, making it easy for Devin and Nick to notice them in the crowd.
It was warming up, and the girls were glad they had worn shorts. The boys down on the field were sweating in their uniform pants, but as they watched, the girls joked about how the sweat made them look more attractive.
Bella blushed as Ian made his way up to the plate, waving at her before he swung the bat up over his shoulder. Anna and Christie grinned at each other before focusing back down on the field, cheering as Ian swung hard and hit the ball deep into the outfield. The other team's outfielder missed the ball, which flew over his head and bounced towards the fence, giving Ian time to sprint around the bases and get a home run. The team swarmed around him and the fans screamed; the Ashland Aggies were up 9-0.
The game went on in the same fashion. By the end the other team, who was by this time rather downtrodden and spiritless, had only scored twice, leaving the final score at 13-2. To celebrate, Ian invited Devin, Nick, Bella, Christie, and Anna to go to a diner down the street. Bella quickly agreed, looking at her friends pleadingly when Ian wasn't looking. They shrugged, following Ian to his car and piling in. Luckily, he was driving his parents' SUV and they were all able to squish in.
Bella, of course, called shotgun, and chatted with Ian about the game. Devin and Nick were too preoccupied with the idea of food to notice, but Anna and Christie shared a knowing look and mentally reminded each other to talk about it later.
Prom was coming up, after all, and they both had a good idea about who Bella was going to go with.

Mitch wasn't sure why he had gotten on Facebook. He wasn't quite sure what he was doing online in the first place, but he must have gotten bored watching Devan and James battle it out on Skyrim. It was obviously a mistake though, as he was quickly realizing as he scrolled through the comments on one of their older videos. Most of the comments were nice, telling them that they were doing well and that their music was awesome, but it was the others that were really making him wish he had left his phone in the other room.
