When Harry saw that Louis was calling him, he immediately rolled his eyes and threw the device onto the other side of the bed. It was almost two in the morning for Christ sake! After the phone stopped ringing, a familiar “ding” sounded, telling him that he had a new voice mail. Harry had been pondering about his and Louis' last conversation, and yes, he'll agree that he was in the wrong. Well, they both were. Louis blew up, but only because Harry was interrogating him . But he was only doing so because he was concerned! But the blue-eyed boy was still confused himself so Harry was basically kicking him when he was down. This was all too confusing.

Harry rubbed his hand down the side of his face and let out a strangled groan and flopped back onto his mattress, the old frame creaking in protest. He rolled onto his side and glanced at his phone, considering calling Louis back. The bright screen still had the voice message alert. Harry decided to not cal back just yet, they had plenty of time to talk this out tomorrow, but he picked up the phone and listened to the message anyways, curious and desperate to hear the Doncaster boy's voice. Harry put the phone next to him and on speaker and laid on his back, staring at the ceiling.

“You have- one new message- and- four- old voice messages. First voice message,” the automated voice echoed throughout the room, and Harry bit his lip in anticipation and nervousness. Louis' light, raspy voice flooded the speaker,

“Uh, hey Harry. You're probably asleep right now, but I wanted to apologize anyways.” he began. His words were slightly slurred, so Harry assumed he had been drinking alcohol, but he didn't sound completely drunk though, and Harry continued to listen. He mumbled a quick 'I'm sorry too' to Louis even though he knew that the person on the other line couldn't hear him. Louis' voice cracked as he continued. Was he crying? Harry immediately felt a pang of guilt swell up inside of him,

“I'm so so so sorry for the way I acted today. You were only trying to help me out as a friend and I shut you out. I'm sorry. So so sorry. I also didn't mean what I said.”

“Neither did I Lou,” Harry croaked out loud, a single tear finding it's way down the side of his cheek. He rubbed his eye with the heel of his hand and nodded in agreement as Louis continued,

“You know, about the whole you not knowing me thing. That was stupid and I was just angry and upset and I didn't know what was happening. I consider you a friend Harry and yes, we've only known each other for a few weeks, but...damn. I don't even know but there's something about you,”

Harry sobbed once and made a watery smile. “Something about me, eh?” Harry chuckled humorlessly and sniffed.

“I just need you. I don't know how or why, but I need you. You're a great person Harry, and I know that it's a lot to ask, but I'm asking for you to forgive me. Please. I'll see you at the studio tomorrow. Bye,” Then the line went dead. The automated lady gave out different options and Harry replayed the message at least four times. He then fell asleep on the sixth time to the sound of Louis' voice, finding It comfortable.

That's when Harry decided that Louis' voice belonged in his ears, and that Louis' smile belonged to his heart. And Louis belonged to Harry, and that's all there was to it. Harry needed Louis just as much as Louis needed him. And with all of these thoughts, Harry fell asleep with a content smile on his face.
