Louis waved to Caroline and wished her a good night then walked out into the dark, winter night. The parking lot was practically empty, save for a few of the employees that haven't left for home yet.

He took a long breath and smiled inwardly as he saw it turn white due to the chilly weather. It was December 17, exactly one week from Louis' twenty-fourth birthday. He hoped that Drake would let him do something special, or maybe that Drake would do something special himself. He knew it was a slim chance, but hey, it's worth a shot!

Louis went into a sort of dazed state, daydreaming about all of the things that he would do on his birthday is he was allowed to. In fact, he was so caught up in his fantasies that he didn't even see the body leaning against his car until he bumped into it. Louis jumped back and his eyes traveled up an endless torso, to broad shoulders, and finally to a very familiar face, “Harry?”

Harry smirked and nodded briefly, “Yup. What's up Mr. T?” He asked casually, as if he wasn't just standing there in front of Louis' car. He was going to be late coming home and Drake was going to be furious. As much as Louis wanted to, and I mean really, really wanted to, he had to go,

“Uh...not a lot I guess. Just heading home,” is what he came up with, hoping the green-eyed boy would get the hint. Harry's smirk slowly formed into a soft smile and he tilted his head to the side slightly,

“Well do you have any plans this weekend?” he asked innocently. Louis sighed and rubbed the back of his neck,

“That depends...what are you planning on asking me?” the shorter boy replied. Harry shrugged noncommittally and continued,

“My friend Zayn invited me to his lake house this weekend, and he said I could bring some people if I wanted. Liam and Niall are coming and if you wanted to go,” he trailed off, unsure. Louis' mouth formed an 'o' shape and he looked distant, pondering whether or not Drake would agree to that. A minute later, Louis decided on his answer,

“Um...I don't know if I can, but I'll ask,” Harry squinted his eyes and his brows furrowed. He wore an expression that Louis couldn't identify,

“Ask who?” Oh shit! Was Louis' first thought, how did I let that slip? Stupid, stupid, stup-

“My roommate!” Louis said a little too quickly. Harry looked suspicious, but he must have brushed it off, “He may have planned something already, but I definitely want to go! I'll ask him,” he finished lamely.

“Your roommate?” he said, but it sounded more like a question. Louis bit his bottom lip, a nervous habit,

“Wellhe'sactuallymyboyfriend,” he rushed out. Harry had a blank expression, but he nodded.

“Okay.” is all he said. He smiled and began to walk back to his own car, waving, “Ask him for me! Text me when you get an answer!” he called as he stepped into his car. The older boy nodded and stepped into his own respective car, mentally preparing himself for the question.

When he got home, Louis wasn't expecting the scene in front of him. There, on the couch, was Drake, and he was just staring at his phone. Just staring at it! The door clicked as it shut and Drake looked up, tears in his eyes. Whoa, wait. Tears? What the fuck?
