Last night I dreamt I walked alongside an angel through a beautiful garden.

He was beautiful. And scary.

He had dark sockets where his eye balls should have been. And his mouth remained more a thin line of lips that wasn't sad or happy.

His tangled jet black hair was a disarray of shiny right coils of curls that had movement but didn't blow out of place.

His strong chin jutted out but not too far, just enough, like Elvis.

He paced himself to my speed as I oohed and wondered at my beautiful surroundings. There were exotic orchids in amethyst and turquoise blues as big as my head. And small white petal flowers the size of a baby fists with yellow pollen stems in the middle.

A cluster of them. That had long green stems with banana leaves on the bottom that pulled away from me when I neared them.

I wondered what they were called and my mind was filled with an army of voices all talking at once.

Not yelling or anything, but incomprehensible. It was actually the most peaceful thing id ever heard. Like a room or hall full of all types of people from all walks of life speaking to one another in different tongues but, not fussy or ignorant.

More a kind of nurturing strum of voices that was comforting like a cat'a purr. Or the steady beat of a humming birds wings.

Until one voice was suddenly clear and Connie closed her eyes in the memory of it as it held her and literally wrapped her arms around herself.

Shy daisy's, it said.

I spun around and dropped into the oddly plush blades of grass and stared up at the sweet nightmare creature.

I was speechless.

(Was that you?) I thought, dropping my chin inquisitively.

The purr of voices started again and then its? His? (Did it matter?)

I took in the glory of him.

His chest was bare and his legs toned and strong built. His arms rippled with strength and power and for the first time I noticed his enormous wings.

They looked porcelain white with shimmering gold around each individual feather tips and edges.

They pulsed, then flashed around me. And I was so scared I was caught in something like a Venus fly trap. Until the wings enclosed me and that voice with the sweet hum of others behind it rang out.

My hand flew to my mouth as I gasped and I bit down on it.

Do not be afraid, Love. Do not fear me.

"Who are you?" I demanded (who are those other voices?) I thought.

The angel opened his mouth revealing a coal blacker than his eyes, but yet and still his voice alone claimed me. His demeanour grounded me.

"Those are my brothers and sisters. Your brothers, sisters, guardians. We are all one. Therefore we do not hide our thoughts from one another. We make decisions as a collective. We choose to work together. It makes our father proud." It nodded after it spoke. Just the once.

(So why can I distinctly hear you?) I pondered

It reached one hand to me and pulled me into his arms.

"Do not be afraid, Love. Do not fear me"

Connie's dark hair fell over his shoulders and shadowed her face. (Why can I hear only you? Why can I see you?)

I felt very aware of him. Some what afraid.

He still held me close to his chest. His biceps and wings holding me. Cooling, fanning and caressing me. Making me feel alive.

He put his face to my neck and heaved his shoulders as if sighing.

"It is like what you call" he paused and looked at me. Well, as much as sockets could look. I suppose it was more like gaping. "Chemistry"

(Like I picked you?) I cupped his face with my hands and glared into his ugly. Loved him more, if possible, despite it.

"We two somehow connect in your life now" he corrected "We bond"

He held both my hands interlocking fingers with his, still gaping at me. Then he looked off into the sky.

I looked up surprised the view was partly obscured by vines. So many vines. Some thin, some thick like branches. Some even with flowers and life forms on them.

I buried my face in its chest, I don't know why. It just felt like a him to me.

(Are we in danger?)

"No" he faced me forward and continued walking. "Again, walk with me. Rest Is near, Love."

One of his hands caressed the length of her hair and she tingled. Even her mind voice quivered.

(I trust you)

They walked hand in hand and Connie noticed how the garden seemed more jungle like. More and more plants looming began casting shadows.

Connie stopped and extended her hand, the magnificent monster turned abruptly. Flashing his wings in plain arrogance and annoyance.

"What now Constance?" The angry angel jeered me

(Well what's your name?)

He held up a baracade of large leaves clustered together revealing bare and utter blackness. The darkness was calling me towards it. Beckoned me forward.

I made a step before looking toward my companion.

(Aren't you coming?) I asked

He stepped forward and his fingertips traced the length of my face.

"This journey is yours alone. Yours alone to choose. Of course, we could stay here" he never meant to say we. But he meant it.

I also leaned forward, and he kissed me.

He kissed me like he missed me.

And we fell into the darkness.

We welcomed the darkness...
