Follow me,
I've been through hell-
And I'll make you see.

A few moments of silence passed, only interrupted by the rustle of the pages of the book I was reading.

I waited for him to leave. But he didn't.

Before any any of us could say anything, my phone rang. It was Tristan calling.

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.

"Zoë! It's Tristan!" He yelled. He was like a hyperactive puppy on red bull.

"Hey, Tristan," I greeted him, chuckling.

"So, we're all going bowling today. We were wondering if you could come with us?" He asked.

I was silent for a few moments. I'd just met these people, and they already wanted to hang out with me. It felt so amazing, being wanted. But nope, the one chance I get to bond and actually have a group of friends as opposed to one single friend...

"I'm so sorry, but I can't," I glumly replied. My eyes flitted over to Cameron who was still absorbed in his phone. What was he doing on that thing? Googling How To Be A Rude Jackass 101? Six Steps To Ensure Inflated Ego?

"Aw, but why?" Tristan whined like a small kid on the other end of the phone. He sounded so adorable.

"I'm kinda forced to stay at home. I promised my mum I would stay," I said.

"But we really want you to come," another voice spoke, actually sounding kind of upset. I couldn't tell if it was Cedric or Connor.

"Cedric, go away!" I heard some shuffling and guessed that Tristan probably shoved Cedric away.

"Well, in that case, can we come over?" Tristan asked.

"'We'? Who does 'we' imply? And why would you want to cancel bowling just to come over to my house?" I asked him, wary.

"Oh, y'know. Arielle, Camryn, Maxx, Ced and Con, and Alyssa. Oh, and me. And we all go bowling every month. We can re-plan to another day so you can come, too, " he rattled off.

"Tristan, that's a lot of people..." I trailed off, uncertain.

"Please?" He begged.

"Just give me a sec," I said, sighing, "I'll have to call my mum and ask, yeah?"

"Sure! Bye Zoë!" He said, excited.

"Bye, Tris," I returned it, before hanging up.

"Who was that?"

Cameron finally decided to say something.

"What's it to you?" I shot back.

Look, I admit- I was nervous when it came to guys. Since all guys reminded me of him. But, for some reason, after the first encounter, I wasn't really afraid of them anymore. It was just the first part that was freaking me out.

"I see you put on your sassy pants today," he joked.

"I see you put on your humility shirt to- oh wait, never mind."
