"Who the hell are you texting?"

Cameron's voice startled me, almost making me drop my phone.

"Uh... A friend?" I answered, only it sounded more like a question.

"Oh, really? And is this friend more interesting than me?" He inquired, turning his head to raise his eyebrows at me.

"Of course," I scoffed. "You haven't said a single word for the past five minutes. We're literally just standing on my roof."

"That's because I was drying my hair."

"Who the hell cares about your hair?"

"The ladies, of course."

"No."

"I get plenty of female attention!" Cameron protested.

"I don't think your mums are counted."

"I hate you."

"Yet you practically begged for me to join you on this pointless endeavour of standing on this roof."

"Big words don't do shit."

"The words aren't too big. Your IQ is too small."

"My IQ is higher than a stoner."

"Can we go already? Or is this your 'special place'? If it is, then damn you're creepy. Your special place better not be my roof."

"It's not my 'special place'. It's... You know what? Let's go." Cameron gave up.

"How long did it take for you to formulate that productive idea?"

"Big words don't do shit!" I heard him call out as he walked to the edge of the roof.

"They're not big words," I muttered to myself as I followed him.

"So we need to reach that branch," Cameron stated. "It took me forever to jump on to the roof."

"You're forgetting something, Marshall. I'm taller than you."

And it was true. I was a few centimetres taller than him, and I had long legs. So it was a pretty normal distance for me.

Grinning, I took a few steps back, and pushed myself off the roof and clung to the branch. I pulled myself up to an upright sitting position, and smiled smugly at Cameron in the dim light.

"You've gotta be kidding me," he scoffed in disbelief.

"Honey, you're gonna catch flies with that ogling mouth of yours," I teased, smirking.

"Shut it, Zebra," he finally spoke, glaring at me.

Cameron launched himself off the roof after a few seconds, and reached out to the branch. But before he could grasp the branch, his fingers merely grazed it, and he tumbled down with a shriek.

"Aargh!" Was all I heard as he fell, the sound high-pitched.

A soft 'thump' sounded as he landed, probably in a patch of grass. I clamped my mouth shut with my hand that wasn't holding the branch to stop myself from laughing.

"Cameron!" I whisper-yelled from above, trying not to snort.

"Urgigflblt," was his only response.
