Both sex and vîgintî quînque are supposed to be letters. They can be interpreted in many ways. In my mind they were lovers. Race, gender, class and sexuality can be seen in many different ways. However, for the lover who left was being treated horribly in the town she /he was in so he/she left. The lover that stayed is naïve, though very much in love, would not give the world to their lover. However, the other lover would. The lover that stayed gave into the town and turned against his/her lover. This cause the lover to leave.
I hope this clears things up for someone if anyone who is reading this.
The main point of the two letters were for the reader to add their own story.
