being back in new york gave me horrible memories. the memories of when i fell from social media and became someone i wish not to be again ... when i gave my own daughter up for adoption.

ryan patted my back as we walked up the stairs to the orphanage. when he knocked, an elder lady opened the door, her frown turning into a smile. "come in, come on."

when we step inside, little kids came running up to us. well mainly me, but they were talking to me and ryan both. "are you here to adopt, sir?" the lady questions.

"no, ma'am." i clear my throat. "i have my daughter up for adoption three years ago and i regret it deeply. i know the file about who the parents are now is confidential-"

"follow me."

ryan hits my shoulder then threw me a thumbs up. rolling my eyes, i continue walking, the woman in her cabinet. she took a moment to get it but then she handed me a manilla folder.

i opened it eagerly, seeing a the name hazel bieber now hazel williams. the legal mother's name is edith, an african american woman, five foot two. i don't understand why they had all his information but i really didn't care. "there's her phone number." ryan pointed out. "and address."

"im gonna call first to see if it's okay."
