Roses are red, violets are blue
Is this poem distracting you?(A/N Tom as John, Jerry as Sarah, and Butch as Jacob. Keep reading and you'll understand why)
I slowly got up from my perch on the couch arm and tiptoed to the stairs. Sarah was looking at me with wide eyes and John stared at us with a what-did-you-guys-do-this-time look.
"Hey, Sunita," Sal came into the living room with a too-sweet smile pasted on his face.
"Hey, Sal," I rocked back and forth on my feet. Jacob came sauntering in with a smirk on his face and made a kissy face at Sarah. She cringed and looked away uncomfortably. John looked like he wanted to punch the guy's lights out (squuuueeeee they would look so cute together).
That alone made me angry. I got the feeling that this guy did something to hurt my best friend.
"He started it!" I blurted out before Sal could even say anything.
"Sunita, just," He sighed and turned too Jacob, "Don't worry, I'll see that it doesn't happen again." Jacob nodded and said that he would leave (thank god; it was getting very difficult to not throw up). However, not before he went over to Sarah, said happy birthday, and placed a lingering kiss on her hand (John contented himself with shredding the couch's arm, and Sal just jerked like he had a really short seizure).
After the door softly closed, Sal and John released their breaths. Sarah mumbled something about being too tired and went up to bed. I started to follow, but Sal cleared his throat. Damn it! I thought as I slowly turned around.
Sal ran a hand down his face, "Sunita, you can't...um...be rude to Jacob."
"Is that why you guys didn't do anything when he was eyeing Sarah like she was an ice cream cone?" John twitched again, but kept staring at the wall.
"Look, Jacob's dad is...well...we can't afford to piss him off, ok? I know it's hard, and I can't explain right now, but try not to get on his bad side," He thought for a second and added, " more than you already have, anyway."
I looked at my feet and whispered, "But he took two of my fries."
I looked back up to see Sal's exasperated expression, "You nearly cost us a-" He stopped short, "You got him mad because he took TWO FRIES!!!" He screamed. I backed up in alarm, "What. Exactly. Did. You. Say. To. Him?" I don't like this side of Sal.
"I-I told him tha-that I didn't even know him and he should sto-stop flashing his panties when Poe-people are trying to eat. Buthewasalsomakinggoogooyuckyeyesat Sarah...so..." I trailed off. Sal seemed to understand though. He was calming down anyway.
Glancing at John, who was still staring at the wall, he whispered, "He'll get what he deserves soon. Don't worry," A little louder he said, "Why don't you go see how Sarah's doing? John and I'll clean up."
I nodded and dashed up the stairs. I reached Sarah's room and gently knocked on the door. She didn't answer. In fact, I didn't any sound for her room at all! Panicking, I cracked the door open and peeked inside. Sarah was curled under the sheets, fast asleep. I smiled sadly, whispered a good night, and shut the door.
Snuggling into my own bed, I prayed for one thing that night: Please, please, please, please, let Jacob get hit by a bus and end up in the E.R....but don't kill him. Or you know what, God, I'll just get revenge myself. That's one thing off of your list. Good night!
And with that happy thought, I fell asleep.
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello! I bet you guys hate me!
