Chapter 5

I got in the driver's seat and turned up the radio to "Sweet Caroline", one of our favorite songs in the 60's.
We would drive around in my dad's car and blast the music. Now that I think about it, we would switch seats while I was still driving! I would jump to the back seat and he would take the wheel. We thought it was some kind of talent that we could do that. I don't know why my dad would ever trust me with the car.
When we got to the pizza place we ordered and ate. We talked about the things we would do in Washington and how we would make it the best trip ever.
After that we went home and decided to go play baseball with some friends.
When we got to the park, Scott was flirting with a girl from our school.
Scott was one of the high school hotties according to the girls of course.
He would flirt with ALL the girls he found attractive.
"Scott!! let's go!" I yelled.
"All right!" he yelled back.
He ran towards us and we started playing. It was now 9pm and we were still playing at the park until some guys came and called Scott out of the game.
I couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation.
"You owe us 40 dollars, Scottie" They said.
"I know! I'm on it guys, this is not the time!" He said walking back to the game.
They left but I was wondering why he owed THEM money. He doesn't even know them! They are like Seniors and we are a couple of years younger! What's going on? No one calls him "Scottie" other than his mom.. he hates it! He gets mad when I say it!
"What happened?" I said.
"Nothing, lets go home now, it's getting late" he said worried.
"All right then, good night guys!" I said waving goodbye to the other guys.
Scott and I walked home but didn't say one word until he got home and just said good bye.
When I got home I took a long shower and went straight to bed.
