When I got home I parked the car on the drive way and just sat there with my mind blank.
I didn't know how to react to what just had happened! I left my best friend behind without even considering what he may have been going through or talking to him. I just yelled at him and got mad.
Scott and I wouldn't talk anymore, I wouldn't call him, he wouldn't call me.
A week passed and we had no contact.
I guessed he had told his parents that I dropped him off or that he walked home from my house because if he would have said that I left him in the middle of no where, his dad would have called to ask why and Scott knows I would have told him so he surely made up something.
I decided to let time go by and see what happens.
A few weeks passed by and he apologized for what he had said, I didn't feel as close to him anymore, we would just hang out once in a while but not every day.
When I would go to a party, people would always ask me where where he was, I would just say he didn't come or I don't know.
Little by little Scott started disappearing out of my life.
A few years passed by and I didn't know anything about him except that he hooked up with some lady like 10 years older than him that was divorced and had children and she would smoke weed too.
He would sleep on the streets sometimes and I would just cry because it hurted me seeing my best friend mess up his life.
When I was 19 I moved away and never had contact with him again.
I had gotten married and made my life with my wife, we had 3 children and we are happily married.
I did try to find Scott though, I would ask my friends who still live out in the country and they would just say that he's more messed up than EVER.
He still slept on the streets sometimes because the lady he hooked up with had "control" of his life.
I would always ask about him and it was always the same answer.
