I have no idea, whatsoever, how a wedding goes. Just a heads up.

A tear fell as Kirstie looked at the love of her life, beaming, standing in front of the altar. She could feel the sobs creeping up her throat, dying to be heard, as she blink all the sorrowful tears away hastily. She tried to regain her composure and took air with a very shaky breath.

With a reluctant step, she started marching down the aisle. The song came to the chorus alongside her steps, just as planned, accompanied by none other than their three other best friends. If another girl was on her place, she would probably ecstatic, enraptured even even. But Kirstie wasn't. If anything, this was torture for her. The nightmare looked so vivid that she could almost hear her desperate begging, her howls of pain, her screams of death that would send anyone with a busted eardrum at the very back of her head, hidden somewhere beside her microscopic hope of getting away here.

There was one point that Kirstie wanted to turn back, never to return and live her life alone and miserably. But she can't. The others see a normal wedding, with the bride walking down the aisle and the groom waiting for her at the other side. But in her eyes, the church seemed to be engulfed in flames, the flower petals on the carpet looked like spikes in a blazing floor, the wedding bells seemed like the laughter of the devil himself. She was the only one suffering. She was the only one that was dying. She can hear her heart slowly cracking one by one with every horrific step she takes. With all those smiles plastered on their faces it was evident that no one knew how she feels.

She turned to look at the guests that was proudly smiling. Their eyes seemed to be saying 'Congratulations!' or in her translation 'Welcome to hell'. She didn't knew how, but somewhere along the lines of pleading for help telepathically, which she failed miserably by the way, she had reached the steps on the altar. And it was then that she realized, she was staring at him eye to eye. All of their memories flashed right before her eyes from the day they met up to today.

It was the day they were meeting the other part of their a Capella group and they decided to meet at the most obvious meeting place anyone could ever think of: Starbucks. She was currently replying to her mom's text when she heard the bell echo, a sound she knew all too well. It's as if the world stopped revolving. Everything went silent except for his to-die-for laugh and his steps, the wind was softly blowing his long, black hair from his bearded face and the light was perfectly placed behind his back, casting an elegant glow. When she sees most guys with long hair she would automatically think that that dude is a hippie but this guy currently waltzing towards their table definitely doesn't look like a hippie. If she thought that he couldn't get anymore perfect, he turned and met her eyes. She can feel herself getting lost in a pool of green, glittery irises.

Basically, their first meeting was full of blushes, staring and Mitch teasing Kirstie. Let's skip to the part where she realizes that she does love him and she's  completely confused on what to do.

Kevin kept telling her that Avi likes her too but, she just won't believe it until he says it himself. Others say that she's numb but no. She's not numb, just cautious. There was a great difference between the two and she made sure that she wants on the numb side of the line.

Every friend of theirs kept telling the obvious fact: they like each other but they were just to blind to see it. She managed to keep it all in and not tell Avi about it for a whole year. Can you imagine it? Holding back everything that you felt just because you're not sure whether he likes you back or not? Kirstie certainly can. Time skip to when she just blew up and just about to give in to depresion. The thing is, she didn't have to confess first. He already beat her to it.

Everyone was relieved that they were finally together. Yeah! Just minutes after he confessed to her, he asked her to a date. And you know what kind of good stuffs happen on dates. Although, on their case, it was little too good that a month after they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Were they inseparable!

And because of their inseparableness, they decided to live together on Avi's apartment. They were on top of the world. Unfortunately for them, everything that goes to the top most fall down eventually. It's like what they say, 'The higher you are, the harder they fall.' And they certainly fell. Hard. No one even saw it coming.

Somehow, Kirstie forgot how they started fighting. Was it because of a third wheel? She can't remember. She would spent most of her days shouting and all of her nights crying herself to sleep. Avi was even hardly at home. And that made her blow a fuse. She made him leave. And just like that, she was once again single and most definitely not ready to mingle.

Avi returned in the middle of the night all drunk and tearful. He kneeled and begged in front of Kirstie to just take him back which she did in a split second. They were back together, and so was the perfect storm that was already there the moment he took a step back to their apartment.

They thought that after they got back together, everything would be alright and it would be as if they never broke up. But it wasn't like that. No, they weren't in their little perfect heaven where they can just kiss and hug and forget everything bad that has happened. No. If anything, it dramatically increased.

Utensils were thrown, insults were retorted, they were back from where they started. Back to the time where everything is screwed up and all she can does is cry. But as always, they were okay. They were fine again. Though I can't say that they were what they used to. But anyways, let's close the door to that horrifying memory and move on to the next one.

Kirstie's hands automatically flung itself to her mouth that was ajar from shock. Hot tears spilled through her eyes as she eye the scene in front. Avi was kneeling and was holding a black velvet box that was containing a shiny diamond ring. She was speechless. She didn't know what to say especially when he was beaming at her like that.

Her breaths came in ragged sobs and strange high pitched noises. She continued to fan her eyes to keep the inevitable locked up in her eyes. She must've used a pretty rusty lock because even when she was doing everything to keep herself from crying, tears spilled endlessly from her eyes. One would think that she was a drinking fountain if a stranger were to pass.

Again, you know what happened there. So let's just skip to the wedding, shall we?

There she was, standing in front of the two doored entrance, still breathing heavy despite the fact that she didn't do anything particularly exhausting. Churches was supposed to be a safe haven, not an appalling hell. She was supposed to be happy this day, but she just can't bring herself to do it.

She reached for the door with shaky hands and a hesitant mind, she closed her eyes and thought 'Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry." But you can probably imagine how useless it was at the moment. Her fingers shrunk instantly when it came in contact with the cold hard knob and later made her clenched fist unusually white as she waited for the signal. With one final shudder, she pushed the door open.

The wind whipped vestigial amounts of hair from her face with a swift but gentle motion. It did little help drying some tears away but it was better than what they're relationship is. Lost you a bit their did I? To make it easier, it was better than nothing.

At the last step she took, the song stopped, and everyone went silent. There at the altar, she looked outside. Beyond the glassy picture of God was sunshine. Everything was going great. The perfect day for the perfect wedding, the perfect man in front of the altar. It was her dream wedding,

Too bad she was just the bridesmaid.
