Lights of different colors blinded Avi's blurry vision as he down another shot of whiskey. A sonorous song was obnoxiously blaring in the background, sweaty bodies swaying with the rhythm of the beat. Avi's ear was begging for even just a second of peace and quiet, but he was at a bar. An extremely loud bar, that was disturbing any piece of placidity outside.

An hour after he barged in, Kevin came and tried to talk him to going home. Needles to say, their conversation was full of Avi shoving Kevin away softly, until it got rougher and rougher with every push. Yes, actions may be stronger than words, but Avi is stronger than Kevin's actions. He drowned Kevin's voice and deafening sound of the bar behind him with a single gulp. The next song was requested by a man with the same condition as he is, drunk, heartbroken and was being dragged home by one of his friends. What better song to play than Just a Fool.

Another shot of whisky please bartender

He scoffed as he forced another bottle of alcohol into his systems. He always said that music brings light to others, guess he was wrong. He never knew this side of music up until now. Now that he felt like Christina Aguilera wrote this song for him years ago, like she predicted the future, his future.

Turn the music up a little bit louder

Kevin pulled him up to his feet but he is mighty*, even more when he isn't sober. He violently shrugged off his friend's hand off of his shoulders and continued to wallow in the bubble of self pity and depression he created. He heard Kevin talking again, but he wasn't talking to him this time. Turns out, he whipped out his phone and dialed Scott's number and told him to call Mitch also. Within minutes, the three of them were desperately dragging Avi back to the car.

Who am I kidding?

Avi could still hear the song clearly, not with his ears but with his heart. His very soul that was also very broken because previous and present circumstances.

I had my heart set on you

Avi couldn't take it anymore and Kevin was unfortunately standing beside him, exasperating him more and more with every second passing just because of his presence. He had to let it out. He shoved him to the ground. Luckily enough for Kevin, that was much more alert on his surroundings, he dodged an incoming punch. It looked painful. Avi's face described it all. Who knew that love was indeed cruel.

And I, waited and waited so long

Kevin writhed below him, squirming as an attempt to escape another nearby punches Avi was going to give. Scott and Mitch had restrain both of his arms with rope that the bartender magically found out the back. He struggled until he can struggle no more. With every breath he takes, falls another tear from his eyes.

I'm just a fool

No one turned to look at what happened. Let's just say that this kind of stuffs happens once or twice every week at the bar. Sometimes a broken-hearted guy but most of the time, it was just some cocky bastard that wants some attention. Avi still kicked everything nearby, Scott had to punch both of his legs hard because Kevin was still recovering from some of Avi's blows. Apparently, he wasn't as drunk as they thought he was. Just one of his drunk punches was already equivalent to three times his sober strength.

But who am I kidding?

Kevin had to blink back to reality, too bad that Avi had to drink just to dodge reality. An even worse one was, alcohol wasn't drifting him away from it, it was taking it back to her. Oh, how he missed her. He missed everything about her. Her face, her laugh, her warmth. Everything, even her flaws that she hated so much. Thoughts like these makes him do things that he doesn't want but has to just to 'Forget everything'. An example of what he was doing now--umm--earlier. Now, he was just being carried back to the car. He didn't tried to fight them, he just let them haul him at the backseat of the car. Mitch was watching him like a hawk, just like how he staring at nothingness in front of him. An endless pit of darkness and sorrow and he was at the brink of it, one small mistake could let him fall. Who am I kidding? He wasn't at the brink, he was already falling into that hollow despair of a cliff.

For holding on to something that
Is never ever gonna come home

He wished that he wasn't so weak to give in to anger. He shouldn't have shouted at her, he shouldn't have made her cry, he shouldn't have left her. If he didn't do all those things, they were still probably together. After that disastrous conflict, everything changed between them. Both of them had cut their connections from each other on every other social media they have, like what they did in real life. This thing has left many of their fans baffled but one dare ask both of them what had happened, none had the guts to even dance around the subject, not even their closest friends or relatives.

I'm just a fool

It was like their past never existed. Even just one look or one word from her that she gives him another chance would be okay, but she didn't. She didn't do anything about it, so neither did he. She stopped talking to him unless necessary and he tries, with all his might, not to punch her current boyfriend every time their together. I'm just joking, that dude wasn't her boyfriend, he was her fiancé.

I'm just a fool

Earlier that night, when her boyfriend proposed to her, something snapped inside Avi's head. Something he knew that was dangerous to even touch. It let out a very nasty version of him, much more hideous than the one that caused all of this. But he didn't let it out until he was a few blocks away. His fists bled and ached from punching the stone wall, it was nothing compared to the pain his heart was in. He collapsed into the bricks, smeared with his own blood. An image flickered in his mind, just before they went to the park, he saw a bar.

And I
Waited and waited so long
For someone who never comes home
It's my fault to think you'll be true

And that's where this broken-hearted story starts. Some girls would walk close, sit on his lap and tried to seduce him. But he wouldn't be seduced by anything that wasn't Kirstie. Kirstie. It was the only thing floating on his mind thought since--well, ever since he met her.

It's my fault to think you'll be true

He was falling through an endless pit of darkness and sorrow. His chest didn't touched the ground, his eyes didn't see the bottom, but his heart was already buried beneath everything, crushed with mighty force of the fall.

"I'm just a fool." He whispered, another tear dropping from his eyes that was mixed with emerald, woe and hopelessness.

Life is like what they say, it's a confusing roller coaster. You'll never really know what to expect and even if you do, you have no choice but just to go with it until it's over. One minute you're at the top next thing you knew you're at the bottom.

He didn't knew his life would change that fast.
